I'm almost done with my second dishcloth. It is so cute - has a Valentine's theme. I actually started a 2nd one before this but didn't like it so ripped it out. I can hardly wait to match up partners!

Hey Trace, this is my first swap ever, too! I can't wait! Isn't this crazy, we are getting all excited over dishcloths!

I've crocheted a couple, they worked up so fast.

Hey Kay, do you have a pattern for heart shaped dishcloth? I'd love to see the pattern or a close up pic of crocheted one.
Anyone else have one?

I don't have a heart shaped dishcloth but have one I just did with hearts on a square cloth. Let me see if I can find the link.

Lori

Hi Lori.. Are you ready to join me in the 12 step program for dishcloth knitters?? I think I may have gone over the edge. I'm seeing dishclothes in my sleep and dreaming up new ways to twink and change old patterns. I just made another one today and decided to change up the border. Since I bought the mason dixon book, just before christmas, I have made 7 of the ballbands that are in that book. Those are fun to knit up. Was fun giving them away as gifts. I have some louet linen I bought on sale and am going to do my next clothes using it.

Glad to hear your a first timer like me Lori!!!!

When should we post pics of our clothes???

I knit everything in a checkerboard pattern..it's the only one that doesn't curl for me. :-)
5 knit 5 purl 5 knit 5 purl, etc
unless it is a larger project..then 10 knit 10 purl..
then the opposite on the other side...I like the look of this pattern. It lies very flat for me also.

Kay,
Mason Dixon knitting is a great knitting book and it's a hoot to read even if your not a knitter. Ballbands are a simple slip stitch pattern. I think it was printed on the lilys cotton yarn wrappers for a long time. I did one for the swap and I want to keep it a surprise for whoever gets it, lol. But here is a picture of the ones I did for my mother for her birthday.

There were pattern links posted earlier, but here's another couple, for knitted dishcloths:

This is going to be so much fun, to see all the different cloths we've made!

Oh my! There are patterns for dishcloths for all 50 states on the second link! I can see a new obsession starting. I'm really liking knitting the cloths that have patterns worked into them. I started another heart one last night.

Trace your dishcloths look great! I've been knitting the same pattern and have fallen in love with the finished product. I'm on dishcloth #3 and have plans to make some more to give to my aunts as Valentine gifts. They were very disappointed that I didn't make some for them as Christmas gifts this past year.

I'm actually becoming obsessed with knitting dishcloths. I'm so glad I joined the swap.

Whoo-hoo! Just went and picked up some worsted cotton to start on my project. I was so surprised at how many patterns for these are. A new obsession is right! What a fun project this is turning out to be. Plus, I am excited to actually get to participate in a swap. I've tried before but always miss the cut-off. By the way, LilyBlossom, hello from Indianapolis!

Kay, there is even a pattern there for the eiffel tower and the outline of france on there. I made those two for a friend who is a friend teacher and he takes his class to paris every other yr. I've done a bunch of the dog ones and paw prints aas well. They come out great and are easy to follow. I also did all 4 of the Harry Potter ones for another friend and bunches of the dragonfly.
