Sorry guys! I got so wrapped up in Christmas and New Year's that I forgot! I've actually looked at this thread for a couple of days and thought to myself "Oh wouldn't that be a fun swap!" Then tonight I realized that it's the one I'm organizing! Guess I was having a MAJOR menopausal moment!

Okay so here's the deal -- I am moving into my new apartment on the 19th. So how about if we keep signups open until the 31st and then I'll match partners. Then you can contact each other for mailing information. Does that sound ok? Packages will need to be mailed to your partner so they receive them by February 28th. If, for any reason, you find that you're not able to participate please let me know so I can match your partner with someone else.

You can send at least one dishcloth to your partner and any other little goodie that you want to put with it. But only one dishcloth is required for the swap.

I found a new knitting pattern I want to try! Let the knitting and crocheting begin!!! Have fun!

Please add me. Dishcloths are about all I crochet. I made doilies before, but all I wanted to do was to keep going around, and make it a dishcloth.

Goodmorning Kay! The guidelines sound great & I'm good-to-go with my one dishcloth...but since I'm addicted to crocheting now, there's no telling...

Chandra -- youre so funny I knit dishcloths all the time too. They are what I do when I watch TV and I always have a stash. So I will have to try a new pattern for something different for this swap. You all are welcome to send as many as you like to your partner but only one is required. Just wanted this swap to be something easy after the holidays.

I would love to be included! Making dish-cloths is so....comforting! And, yes, perfect for cozy winter evenings in front of a good movie! Thank-you to the gals who posted the web-sites with the patterns too! So many to choose from! Can't wait to begin!
Well gotta go....off to choose the perfect pattern!
Angie.

I'm hooked Linda...I LOVE it. I purchased a big cone of Lion's Brand 100% kitchen cotton for my 2nd project (bath towel) & tried the instructions on pg 124 in MJ's Stitching Room, building onto foundation chain by slipping under both loops, but this stitch is really tight, firm & dense so it's being worked into a bath mat instead. It's wonderful to make something that is functional & looks better quality than some of the mats I've seen in stores. I am probably going to do another dishcloth for the swap, this one will be a different stitch, but then, I'm back to making a bath towel in mercerized cotton, building onto fndtn. chain by slipping under one loop...it's a much more pliable end product. I love the texture & it's that snuggly feeling I like in towels. So...I'm addicted, can you tell?

I started my swap dishcloth last night. It's a new pattern I found in a book. It has knitting and purling, different patterns in different rows, so I have to pay more attention when I'm knitting. The other pattern that I've done for years I can practically knit with my eyes closed.

I thought it might be fun to include the pattern that we use in with the dishcloth. What do you think? Kind of a pattern swap too.

A bath mat sounds wonderful. I need a new one for my bathroom and never thought about making one myself. Suppose you could knit one or would crochet work better. I have a hard time with crochet.

I used the 100% cotton for the mat and it's getting a bit cumbersome to manipulate as it's about 2/3 complete, but from what I remember of knitting...I'd opt for the knitting. I love this mat as it's really dense and tough enough to stand up to lots of use.
I think it's a great idea to include the pattern with the dishcloth...let's add that to the guidelines if the other farmgirls agree.

I agree on including the pattern. You know what it's like when someone cooks something to share and never brings the recipe! And, who couldn't use another dish-cloth pattern!

Oh, Kay...that's a great site, thanks for posting! I can't tell from the picture whether it's knit or crochet, it looks so similar to what I've got done so far, mine is just the off-white cotton. I really like this. I'm on to bath towels after the dishcloth swap. Kay, thank you so much for starting this swap, it totally motivated me to do all these great projects! Woohooo!!!

It's a knitted pattern with crocheted edge. I can see a trip to the store coming up for more cotton yarn and needles! I think off-white cotton sounds pretty.

I don't have a pattern for mine. It's just the way I learned to make them and so it is not a written pattern.

One thing I can't do is knit. I also can't follow pictures and directions in a book. I have to have hands on learning. Maybe I can learn and join in next time.

Georgia Girl you don't have to know how to knit to join this. The directions say also you can crochet. I've made lots of dishcloths that are crocheted.
