I've got the paperwork! So if you are interested in gardening in the inner mountain west or just gardening, Organic, "green" backyard or small farming, a healthy dose of horseplay and non-sense, a dash of this and that with some fun do-at-home projects, let me know
I'm learning too and what ever we come up with will be fun. This will be a low pressure group with an emphasis on native and organic plants, heirlooms, gardening and mini-farming in the inner mountain /inland empire... ok mostly dry summer gardening area :P
If you just want to hang out for the fun of it and play in the mud, jump right in
All ideas are welcome. What's your garden growing this spring? What are your tips and tricks?

I'm playing around with several logo ideas I'm thinking of a magpie or a mudhen (coot, that makes us either old coots, or cootettes, not Cooties :P) in blue wellies. Whaddyathink? So far these are our two bird ideas for logos, I'm thinking of other ideas as well.

Annika, the magpie is my favorite. Love your blog, the pictures make my heart longing.

I am really into gardening, right now I am collecting heirloon seeds for when we go back to Canada and settle, in about 3/4 years, and I try to leave as little print as possible on Mother Earth. I can and cook from scratch and used to have my garden which is not possible here in Kuwait. But I always plant herbs.
Maybe you can tell me if I need to register in the Sisterwood to be a member of your chapter ?
Let me know what you need from me, to be part of your chapter.
Looking forward to hear more from you and from the Chapter.

Hello, email me your address and I will send you a membership certificate =) I don't think you have to join the sisterhood to be a member, but I will have to ask, since this is all pretty new to me.
Corinne I'm glad to have you as a chapter sister, Welcome!. I will make a blog where we all can post, until the hen houses are up and running for us. Please also read the information on hen houses and I will send you blog info when I have one made for us.

Cheers
Annika

Sorry, Corinne, I first gave you the wrong information. To be a cyber-chapter member - like a member of Annika's chapter here - you DO need to join the "Sisterhood" to be a member of a Cyber-Farmgirl Chapter with a "henhouse." Sisterhood membership has its own great benefits - check 'em out at http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/farmgirl-sisterhood/ . This sounds like such a fun group! YAY for the mudhens!!!

XOXO, Libbie

"Farmgirl Sister #10," and proud of it!!!

Thank you Libbie! I was composing an email to ask, and undoubtedly there will be a lot more questions. Thank you for the info. I will have fun bumbling my merry way through the first bits of setting up. Corinne and Libbie both of you have a great weekend !

Mine is too. I have a bunch of things on my porch that arrived too late to plant and the little Ponderosa pines are looking undaunted and perky and I can't wait to get them into their permanent spot in the spring

Have you seen those table-top mini gardens? Aero-garden I think they are called. I saw a kit for converting it to organic seeds or what ever you want to grow. It was pretty cool! Not the same as playing in the dirt, but grown by your own hand none-the-less and fresh. I'm think of one because I just want to play with it, even though they are a bit spendy. I'll see if I can find some info on it =)

I'll email you on the logo and I'm glad to have another garden girl

Annika, I have a couple of those areo gardens and love them dearly. I am going to plant one of them tomorrow. EZ and you can't get any easier. Are you still wanting me to do that research we discissed before? Its fun planning and getting seed catalogs and more planning.

I think I can make room You and Carol Sue are also Kooky Klucker Sisters, this is fun! A bit of cross pollinating between chapters is good. We live so scattered that it is the only way to get to know one another proper. You and I have a LOT of fruit to pick next summer. Maybe we can all do a jar of preserves swap, since we live too far apart to all gather and have a harvest put up party.

So we are:

Hey there Annika,

I would like to join your cyber chapter. I am traveling a bit right now and in an apartment but I think the Aerogarden would be perfect for letting me dabble in growing my baby green and baby veggies.

It would also be nice to be able to learn more from the members that are actively working a garden. I really want to learn more about collecting the Heirloom seeds for later use.

Thanks so much, Stephanie

Good morning Mud Hens! I will need a real address to send your certificates and perhaps a short bio on the blog. Include your climate zone and what kind of garden space that you have available and what you want to grow and I/we can come up with projects and a growing calendar for each area with monthly updates and alternate projects for apartment bound sisters. I will be posting articles and bits of info for us as we go. It will be fun to document our growing experiences and show pics of our projects. Everyone is free to submit articles and tips and bits of info, suggest projects etc. This is a for fun and relaxed group for those that enjoy their garden/farm time/organic life time.

Hey girls, I will work on the blog after a couple of doctor appointments (UGGG!). I think I've got Debi, Corinne and Stephanie so that they can post. I'm not sure which category allows that access. I have couple of projects in mind so that we are ready for planting time. Be that 100 acres or containers, these are both useful

Tell me if you still cant post. I'm more used to Blogger and this is trial and error still until we have the hen houses.
