What with remodeling and now a badly leaking storage shed, I've throw in the darned towel. I'm gonna get everything that is in messy stacks and boxes into tidy boxes and into a storage unit. THEN I can clean up the whole house from tippy top to bottom and only have what I need or truly want here. I can sort at my own leisure and hold a humongous garage type sale in the spring. No more nightmare. No more mess. It'll be worth the money. I can't even have others over it is so cluttered. This will be just awesome to have my much beloved space back.I'm so happy

Good for you, I think that's a great idea. Sometimes we all need to start with a clean slate!

Sometimes you just have to spend the extra money in the long run (storage) to finally get the work done. Sounds like a good plan!

I did this with my craft room when we needed to make repairs to the basement wall and well pump. I was able to just rent the storage for 3 months. It worked out very well.

Hardest part for me is going through and clearing out everything. I have two 10x20 and it's costing a small fortune. Lots of my mothers stuff still to give away-clothes and shoes. I'm going to put her hospital bed in my guest room and give the daybed to my son for his guest room. Once I make a quilted cover for the metal headboard and put a few hundred Boyd's Bears on it, no one will know it's a hospital bed. No one is going to buy it for more than a few bucks and they're quite pricey, so may as well keep it in case someone here needs it someday.

I can totally relate! That is why I have to rent a building to sell my antiques . . . and house my crap! LOL!
