Tonight was our little town's Lighted Christmas parade..we love it..we can just walk down the street and stand at the corner of main street to watch..it was COLD tonight but so pretty out!! My cousin and her husband, who were our Thanksgiving company this year..my favorite visitors ever...left this morning. There are some pictures of us in the kitchen yesterday on my blog..we just had so much fun...no sleep and lots of giggling. I have missed her so much. She is like a sister for sure! WE share our childhood history and family gossip, and still we just get along so well!!! Anyway... a friend of mine hit the black Friday sales and I had her pick up a couple of things for me..so I got a little start on Christmas shopping..but do have some handmade things done... how are you all doing on Christmas shopping...I need to get going!!

Jenny, your the late nighter poster, I am the early morning poster !! Your town parade sounds nice. We went to town last night, and saw alot of lights shining already. It was pretty. I work part time now, so no early morning shopping for me. ( got to help pay for those nice green equipment purchases this year ) I would not go anyways. I don't do well in crowds !! I did some shopping in Cabela's bargain cave the other day. ( on line ) So the boys are done in my family. Have made the sugar and cream shopping bags for the girls on my side too. Will fill them with laundry soap, and cleanser. Not too exciting, but all homemade. Got the heels turned on a pair of alpaca, and wool socks for my oldest son. So I have a real good start. Going to make a couple simple scarves for 2 of the boys girlfriends. So have some ideas anyways, so I feel pretty good. Next will be finding time to decorate. Have fun with everything.

Jenny that sounds like a wonderful time. Your family is so lucky to live in such a great little town. What a way to get into the Christmas spirit!

The parade sounds wonderful. Glad to hear you had so much fun with your Thanksgiving company. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!
Michele, your gifts sound wonderful to me! Homemade is always the best! I haven't gotten much done with my own Christmas shopping yet. Maybe tomorrow I can get on line and put a dent in it. My youngest son is home sick, so it's hard to get much done. Oh well, there's plenty of time to do it! Yeah right!

Sounds like so much fun, Jenny! I'm starting to get into the spirit, but it's slow this year. We haven't done any shopping at all, though we are going to do some this weekend--I have been knitting like crazy, though, but I better get myself an extra pair of fingers!!!!!

Our favorite Christmas tree dealer has set up the trees! I can barely stand it! Jenny I love Christmas, all of the lights and scents and smiles and bright eyes of the lil' ones. . I wish even the most formidably surly people a happy holiday =P We have our lovely holiday rituals Drew and I. No shopping yet. I get my checque on the 1st and have to wait. My family is a strictly store bought or forget it crowd and I never know what to get them. I'm the black sheep, which isn't too bad really, just awkward. We all have nothing in common. I am the only one that has always loved Christmas. I don't why. They are all Grinches =p Drew and I buy our tree, come home sing Christmas carols quite badly and try to get the tree to stand up kind of straight, then we have baked Brie and crackers and my own pate and sing more while the tree "comes down". The next night, usually, we decorate it and have more fun ... I love Christmas. I already have my little rustic heart and bells decoration on the door and some lights up.
I'm a post-any-time girl too
I'm so happy that you had such fun with your family and at the parade.
Wishing you joy in small things and peace in your heart
Annika
