But I like Amish Paste better. I grew those last year. The Romas took much longer to ripen and the Amish Paste had a better, sweeter taste. Experiment over. I'm going back to Amish Paste.
I also tried okra for the first time. Sorry, okra lovers, but I did not like them at all.
I experimented with my peppers because they never get any bigger than golf balls. Thinking that our nights are just too cold (in the 40's for most of the summer), I put them in large pots and kept them in the greenhouse. The peppers were still too small but they got to be about the size of a small orange. I just don't know how to get them any bigger. I fertilized them with fish emulsion like everthing else.
Watermelons were pretty much a flop. I grew them instead of cantaloupe this year. I'll go back to cantaloupe.
I tried snow peas as well as regular. The snow peas rarely made it to the house (yum). I'll have to grow a bigger patch of it next year.
Anybody else try something different this year? What were your results?
