Goodmorning! I just wondered if anyone else had any photo's of "volunteer" plants? This is the volunteer cherry tomato plant that started in the corner of our compost pile several weeks ago. It's growing like a weed and DH & I've been scrambling trying to find stuff to prop it up. It started with 3 tomatoes, now there's about 30...ahhhh, the power of nature. Yea God!!!

Last year I had Pumpkins growing in my compost pile. There we 16 and they all were exactly the same size. There were a few gourds too. Here is a picture I took last fall of some of them. A picture of a picture. This year we had a few potatoes. It's just a hoot. MB

OOOh I wish I had taken pictures of my volunteer wave petunias. I didn't know they would seed out, but I had them growing all over my back lawn near where I had a hanging basket last year. I rabbit who was busy having babies all summer under my deck would come out an nibble on them, and of course, we named her "Petunia".

I had quite a few jelly bean tomatoes come up volunteer from my chickee girls pooh, LOL They love tomatoes, so we ended up with lots of plant, so many I started giving them away to folks. I still have little tomatoe plants sprouting everywhere. Here's a pic from early summer of some we had come up in the flower bed right in the middle of all my flowers LOL

I have never heard of jelly bean tomatoes! Where did you find them? This year we had an entire bed taken over by our volunteer cherry tomatoes FROM last year. I planted them two years ago, and I am thinking I will not have to buy plants ever again! (We renew our soil every year, with a fresh layer of compost from a digester. It seems to kill out any fungus/bugs,etc.)
