If you are not familiar with the magazine, The Essential Herbal - you need to get it! My interview with herbalist Gail Faith Edwards is in the latest issue and it focuses on Gail's book on menopause and life at Blessed Maine farm.
Also look for my article on Ground Ivy in the Spring issue of The Herb Quarterly and another on after that - it will involve many famous herbalists and their take on herbal medicine today!

As for the Essential Herbal - check online, just pop the title Essential Herbal in on a Google search - as far as I know you can only order the magazine online.
My article on Ground Ivy will be in the Spring 2008 issue, as soon as I find out when it will be out I will let you know.
Herbal medicine and writing are my two favorite passions. I am gifted be be able to indulge them.

Well, looks like I will be in The Herb Quarterly and The Herb Companion - I really lucked out this time. I have left the Essential Herbal, as it was a great experience contributing, but I must make a living from my writing. It won't be long now!

I will sure be looking for your article..I love Herb Quarterly..but don't always get it. I havn't seen Essential Herbal..but do get Herbal Companion sometimes when I find it. I usually have to wait for a trip north to the city to find these. I really should subscribe to at least one! How fun it will be to see an article by one of our farmgirl sisters!

Just found out due to space constraints that the Herb Companion is not using my salve recipe but they may use in next issue *sigh* they should have told me sooner, I rushed around like a fool to pull that together in a short span of time.
But.....I did get another big assignment with HQ - this one is going to be awesome!

Sorry for your disappointment, Kathy. Glad you got an even bigger assignment from them. Hang onto the first article, you may be able to submit it somewhere else, or at a future time with the same magazine.

A young member of a group I started a long time ago was one of her live-in students, and had many interesting tales to tell around our bonfires about that experience. Wooo Hooo, my article is out in the Spring 08 issue of Herb Quarterly. It looks lovely and I am so pleased. I love the art work in the magazine, it really adds to the appeal of the articles. Be sure to read it!
