For what ever reason, my teeth are dying off at the root (don't try this at home kiddos) and I'm in considerable pain. Because of risk of tossing infectious germs into my blood stream and harming my wonky kidneys??? they only want to pull them one or two at a time. Tomorrow it is going to be two *sigh* I will end up with at least partial fake chompers, but it beats the sore jaws. I HATEHATEHATE going to the dentist, it really throws me into a panic...silly huh?. Please excuse my lateness on any projects and replies, I will get to them as soon as I'm not seeing double from the pain killers...

So pray for me that I don't bite the dentist and that I get through this with out too much panic, please?

Annika, just breathe, one breathe at the time, as slowly as possible.
Will be thinking of you and hoping that the pain is bearable and that you feel better soon.

Well, the dentist, found that my bite was way off and that I had a nasty bit of inflammation in the gums, so before we go yanking a bunch of teeth, he buzzed them down so that I would have a better bite, gave me a bunch of Lortab and anti biotics....I hate tooth pain. I think it is so close to your brain that it shorts things out in the rest of you body. Some times all I can think is " My teeth hurt, my teeth hurt ouchie ouchie ouchie"

But things will get better and I'm getting things together this weekend...hopefully.
Thank you all for your understanding.

Annika,
Have you tried accupressure for pain? Use your thumb and first or middle finger to put pressure on the "meaty" part between the thumb and first finger on the opposite hand. Go way in as far as you can and press as hard as you can. It sends out natural endorphins that will help with the pain. Works for any pain, not just dental. The pain control Dr I was seeing at UCLA some years ago showed me how to do it. Helped more than the 100 vicodin a week he was rxing or the trigger point injections of lidocaine into my neck and shoulder muscles. He was a professor of east/west medicine.
Feel better!
