Welcome, Ruby! I think you will find that, some of us have farms, some of us have cottages, some of us have apartments in the city, but we are all kindred spirits, here. So glad you found Maryjane, and it turn, us!!!

Enjoy!

Well hello Ruby of Apple Valley ~
Sounds so beautiful. Like something from a novel. I, too, am new to this group. I look so forward to getting to know you better. Your web-site is just lovely. I love to piece quilts but never have learned to quilt. I am one of those girls who learns better by "seeing" and just can't seem to get that from a book.

I'm sure you'll make many friends here!

Blessings, Lea

Hi Lea
Good to hear from you. So are you a quilter? I would love to visit your state. I have never been down that way. How is the weather there at this time of year. It turned extrememly cold here last night. Do you live on a farm or like me, wish you lived on a farm?
I would also like to know if there are any farm girls out there from South Dakota??? Let me know. It would be fun to see if there is someone out there from the area I actually come from which is Marion and Parker south dakota.
Lea hope to hear from you again.
God Bless
Ruby

Hello again Ruby of Apple Valley,
(I just love the way that sounds. Maybe I'll write a book and use your name in it!),

I suppose I am not a true quilter since I only piece them and then tie them. My grandma called them ticks. I do enjoy piecing by hand. It just is so relaxing. I have lived in TN for only two years but have found it to be very pleasant indeed. The winters are mild but can become quite cold for short periods of time which is such a nice time to use those old heavy quilts! We have had the wood stove really cooking these past few nights. It is a very pretty place to live and the people have been so kind. I feel so blessed to live here.

We live here on 16 acres and hope to make it a farm very soon. Just large enough to provide our food needs and hopefully enough to share with others as well. Though we have lived here on the land for a year, our youngest son became quite ill only one month after moving here. It took us a year to get him through it (he is much better now) and so now we feel like we're just beginning. But we know that the good Lord knows exactly what need so we figure everything is right on schedule!

Such a pleasure to talk to you. I think we're just going to have a lot of fun and learn so much sharing with each other here!

Blessings, Lea
