Oh my goodness, what a price! You couldn't even get a parking space in San Francisco for that! If only that were in the right neck of the woods. I've never seen a house with so much character!

Melissa .. come to Kentucky!!! Fredericksburg is lovely too! My dad's family is from that area .. my olde stompin' grounds .. sure is a LOT cheaper here in Kentucky though!

My honey went to officer's training school down the road from there! Is that where you man is too?

That house is gorgeous. I love the inside and all those fireplaces and wood floors. Can you believe that cellar? WOW!! some lucky person or family are going to be very happy in that place. If they have the money to go all the way and fix everything it will be a one of a kind!

Frannie,

I've heard Kentucky is gorgeous. I don't think I've even driven through. Maybe when we leave here. Yes, my husband is stationed at Quantico. I'm ready to move though...it's too hot and humid here. Isn't it humid in Kentucky too? I want to head west again. LOL

yes miz melissa .. kentucky can be humid in the summertime .. but .. it is 'tolerable' .. and come beautiful autumn (right now .. i do believe we are at our PEAK .. although i don't expect the leaves to last too much longer cuz' FINALLY .. we are getting lots of RAIN! our winters are usually quite mild and spring .. like most places is always GLORIOUS!

i've lived in colorado where the weather was quite wonderful (albeit .. denver has gotten tooooo BIG and smoggy .. and even EVERGREEN .. dear little sleepy town in the 70's has gotten too 'uppy yuppy' for our lifestyle. STILL BEAUTIFUL and oh those majestic mountains!

we do believe we have found a little slice of heaven here in kentucky. i was at a Task Force meeting yesterday to help plan our 'future' ... and we were all talking about how 'friendly' kentucky still is despite all the 'anger' and 'frustration' that seems to abound in other parts of the country. i kinda' related it to Washington, D.C.'s 1940's and 1950's! OH MY! how D.C. has changed since i was born and raised there! (OF COURSE .. i was looking at it through my 'child-eyes' at the time ... but when speaking to my older family .. they agree with me.) "PROGRESS" hits just about everywhere in the United States .. but it just seems a little slower and gentler here in 'ole Kaintuck! xo

Frannie, thank you for the information. I'll stick it in the back of mind...and do some looking around. :) We have a few years until we settle somewhere but I'm one that is always thinking and looking and praying for that dream spot to occur at just the right time. :)

Nin, totally off topic, but I looked at your blog! It's great! I am so impressed you did it all yourself. I hope your greencard comes soon!

Ah, Frannie. My heart leapt when I saw those pictures. What I would give to get my hands on it and start from the ground up. Thanks for sharing that with us. It is absolutely gorgeous! I hope some real true farmgirl gets it, and not some developer who hasn't got an appreciative bone in his body!

What a dreamy place! I believe I could drop my entire little house right into the living room and still have room to enjoy the fireplace LOL. It certainly will make someone very happy.
