I am bummed about this...as I use stevia in my green tea that I drink all day long. I was getting it at GNC, but Walmart was quite a bit cheaper. I heard Fred Meyer has it, but they tend to be more expensive. Anyone else use this sweetener?

I love Stevia, but it is expensive. So I bought a packet of seeds and am trying to grow some plants. So far I think there are 3 or 4 that are doing great. I picked a leaf off of one the other day to give it a try and oh my goodness, it was so sweet I had to spit it out! A little of it sure does go a long way.

Blessings....
Sarah

I heard the Trader Joe's has it at a good price. I am going to head up there in a few weeks and stock up. Can I ask what everyone is paying for it at various places? Or is that a taboo question?

I was just at Trader Joe's today and their Stevia was $5.99 for a large bottle (The last bottle has lasted about a year and I use a little every morning in my tea).

In Canada we can only buy Stevia at a health food store, or grocery store's organic section, if they have one. It rarely goes on sale, is usually $15-17 for a box of packets.

Stopped in at Wal-Mart in Orillia, Ontario today, and they have stevia, $11.99 for packets, and $9.88 for liquid.

Pamela,
I too use Stevia,
I use to buy mine @ Trader Joes in Calif. $8.99 for a box of 100pks.
I also found it @ Huckleberry's but it was around $11 a box. I had no idea that they sold it at Wallyworld or FredMeyers.
Have you searched for places to buy it on the internet? that might be an option.

Sarah, where did you buy the seeds???? I want to try my hand at growing it, how big does the plant get? is it something I can grow in a pot/container on a sunny window ledge?

Stevia comes in different forms. The white powder is a dried extract. And it takes expensive equipment to extract it. How many use the dried leaves form? (Green powder) I was wondering.
