Well, here it is Fall and still no rain.
On CNN today, they say Lake Lanier, which serves 1/3 of all Georgians water, will be dry in 121 days. And still, people keep watering their plants from the hose and acting like all is fine.
I have been dumping all my water from washing dishes, bathing the furkids (once a month now instead of once a week to help a little) and our own showers into 5 gallon buckets just to keep my plants alive. I have buckets under my eaves to catch any rain if we do get it, I get a few drops every morning from condensation dripping off the metal roof.
It's been really hard. I just wish more people would try to conserve a little. |

Wow- I didn't realize that the water situation was so bad. I hope some rain come your way soon. Aren't we starting to get into the rainy season for your part of the country?

| October is historically a dry month too. So, I don't know what we will see. A lot of trees have died this summer. |

Lynn, its just as bad in viriginia. I know youve gotten a bit of rain this go around, or at least it looked like it on the radar today. I've been watching all day as though I'm a kid waiting on the snowstorm....
The water level is just 4 inches from an all-time low at Lake Chesdin, which provides nearly half of the water in Chesterfield County. Right now, there's about 6 feet of water left in the lake, which officials say will be gone in six months if it doesn't rain. |
