Hi Ladies, I bought two bags of bulbs from Lowes. One is a Crocus Mix and the other is Hyacynth. I planned to plant them up at our new house but the ground is still filled with construction machines. How do I keep these in good shape until I am able to plant them? Do I store them in the fridge? I am sort of clueless about this.
Lindy, you can store them in your garage away from a window this time of year.Or in your basement until you can plant them.Keep them away from water, excessive heat, and direct light. I just planted those today.Be careful and pace yourself once you start planting,it killed my back today.
And rodents. Mice got in to a plastic tub I was storing mine in and made a big mess last year. I'm keeping them inside until I can plant them. Sorry about your back Farah I try to remind myself to get up take a break, and stretch...I usually forget, but I DO try LOL
Wishing you joy in small things and peace in your heart
They also have the little bulb hole diggers that have a long handle so you don't kill your back. The only bending you have to do then is putting the bulbs in the hole. I usually dig all of my holes first then plant the bulbs. I have a small refrigerator, the dorm room size and I keep my bulbs in there if I miss my chance in planting them in the fall. Robin
