Is there a standard flyer that is made up already that can be hung at the market or passed out or hung at the sales barn or bakery or wherever? ALSO, has anyone made up a press release regardng membership in chapters? I thought to ask before i created them myself for my chapter. ALSO, how can I go about getting my certificates and stickers for people who do sign up with my chapter?
Thanks!!

Star Bright Tasha!
If you can do your own local press releases and posters/flyers, that would be great. We don't have anything like that yet, but now it's on our list! Maybe send us yours when you're done and it can be used by our other chapters????
If you are in need of more bumper stickers or chapter certificates or those cute little "what's a farmgirl" cards that Carol made, just give Brenda here a call and she'll get more sent right out to you.
Happy Fall to you and yours!

Here is what I worked up for a press release:
PRESS RELEASE OCTOBER 4, 2007
Do you believe in the power of a clothesline, an apron and your own ingenuity and creativity? Do you garden, farm, wild forage, tend animals or simply dream of doing so? Are you crafty? Do you sew, knit, sculpt, paint, recycle garbage into useful items? Do you believe in Sisterhood and having a community with common dreams and goals for sustainable living? Are you the type of gal who believes in doing what you can for others, be it, welcoming a new neighbor with a plate full of homemade oatmeal cookies or stopping by an elderly friends home with a basket full of your fresh garden veggies?
If you said yes to any of these things, then you belong in the Farmgirl Sisterhood! The local Farmgirl Chapter, (chapter name), is looking for new members. You can be one of them! Call (name) at (number) for more information on membership and meeting dates. You can also visit the Farmgirl Forum at www.maryjanesfarm.org to find out a little more of what being a Farmgirl is about.
An information meeting is being planned for later in the month. Please call for more details.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Any suggestions for change before I submit to the local paper?
Tasha- I loved your press release
Just a suggestion on getting the word out to farm girls that may not be at the point to frequent feed stores and the like. Our town has a "hometown" supplemental newspaper that comes out weekly. In there is all the local news that the countywide paper dosen't have room to include. My experience has been that more people read that little weekly paper for town news/events, etc than the other and it would be a great way to promote your chapter. Plus they are usually more accomodating than bigger papers.
Good luck with your chapter. Please keep us posted. |
