What would cause and apple pie to be watery? They made two pies and one was full of juice and one was perfect. My granddaughter made one and my grandson made the other.
Thanks

Did one forget to add the thickener? (Flour or cornstarch?)

Did one use different apples?

Certain apples just aren't good for pies (as I've found in trial and error :)

Or did they use different apples? I know some apples stay firm when cooked and others turn to mush (better for sauce).

Yesiree, those are yucky apples for pie. They are, unfortunately, NOT so delicious. Just an eating apple, and even then, by some of the grocery standards, that's stretching it!

Mystery solved!
