Ruth, you are one very industrious lady!!!! And having fun doing some of it, all the better.

Ok, I knew I forgot a couple of things, snakes and scorpions, eeehhh gads!!! I am such a wimp.....

Karins barn sounds so intringing, see we could all meet up at Karins and help her with her barn.....oh how I wish we could.

Ronna, how stupid that all is.....where were they some years ago.

Steph, gotta go check the blog.

Suzan, you go girl, and he wonders why it needs painted, men!!!!! LOL.

Another sunny warm day and gosh you get every bit of it in that you can. Flung all the windows open, how delightful to finally get to do that, it has been since October that I have gotten to do that. Yippeeee. Off to go play in the sun....grin.

I love all of the patterns in the book I think. I don't know which one to try first. It looks like I will have to renew the book for sure.

Carol Sue~send some sun our way. We have pouring rain again.

All I can say about the rattlesnake is I am ready to move back to Ohio! We don't have anything like that where I grew up! I had gone out on the porch to call my mom on my cell and Olivia had walked out behind me and then I happened to notice the snake about 3 feet away by the door going out into the yard! Praise God that without any question Olivia listened right away when I told her to go back in! Gary was in the kitchen right there so I did the "HONEY COME HERE" and we spent about 5 minutes chasing the thing out from under the workbench so Gary could take care of it!!! Ick!!

Snowing? I hope it doesn't snow here, we had a few moments of sunshine today, but then the gray and the rain came. Zan and I had driven down to this farm to look at some Jacob sheep and there babies, too cute. Of course they weren't close by the fence so I really couldn't get any decent pictures.
They are so wonderful looking, spotty and some have extra horns.

My barn. I tell ya, having a barn when you come from a family of magpies is a terrible thing sometimes. My cookstove is pale nile green and cream, the woodbox and burner plates are in tiptop shape and the oven temperature window has a dead fly in it. That was what my husband liked best about it. There is a bun warmer aat the top, and if I remember right one of the round cast iron burner plates says: oatmeal. It is a real sweetie. There is a wonderfull place in this area called Monroe Stove Works and they restore old stoves and have a wonderful variety to choose from.
I guess someday when I'm feeling brave i'll have to tackle a few boxes and see what the hell is in there. Not this week though.

Jess, Your husband's gallery sounds great, and what a treat to live in
a community that has so many things going on. There are a bunch of galleries in the nearest tourist town to us, but most of the stuff really stinks.

Oh it's raining cats and dogs now, it makes a lot of noise on the roof here and dripping off the eaves. Better than snow though.

Right, it quarter past eight, I better go start some supper...

Jess, need pictures of the gallery! Put them on your blog..would love to see all of it and how it's set up. It's supposed to snow up to three inches tonight and tomorrow at my cabin..geesh, enough already! My poor pipes! We've got to get a plumber there pronto after we arrive because we can't turn on the water til the repairs are made from the damage a month ago..then turn on and hope nothing else has split.

Karin, I think the snow is headed over to the east coast so watch out!

Hey girls- I think I'm emerging from the "black plague" tonight.
It has been a rough few days for me but I think I feel better tonight-I am sitting upright for the first time in 3 days!!!
So much going on here-
Jess the gallery sounds fantastic-we have a gallery that is similar. I have seen some fantastic local art.

Snakes in the house???? Scary!! We have LOTS of snakes- but I just keep things trimmed and live in denial of their existance.

It's even cold here!!! What in the world?????

I have some fun news to share- but you'll have to wait till tomorrow!!!!(Don't you hate it when people do that???)

Blessings,
Autumn

Carol, I don't know what's up with the posting on blogger..well my blog in particular...Monica can't either...I had to download Mozilla Foxfire web browser after the recent design changes at my blog..Internet Explorer refused to recognize some of it....in addition, I found out that when logging into my website I have to used Internet Explorer...it will not let me log in using Mozilla Firefox....geeshhh...two browsers is quite enough!

So the only thing I can say is that you need to download Mozilla if you don't already use it and see if that will work..then you can have both browsers available...it seemed to get a bit complicated..LOL But I'm prepared for everything now..

Two hour drive each way; court appearance was about one minute. Hers was the second case called, first one had no one in court and the judge just said all papers were reviewed and in order..sounded like a divorce agreement. He told Glenny he felt the minor child was being taken care of properly and all papers had been submitted and that was it. Worth it though, we got to visit (without the minor child aka little jerk), had lunch and went to her local thrift shop...I'm sure spoiled! They did have a $3 plastic grocery bag sale and she'd picked up a few things, so I found three silk dresses/blouses to put in and paid the $3. She answered a few questions about the Minnesota treadle she gave me and that's good. We were talking about her deceased 2nd husbands family and looking at old pictures. His mother's name was also Ronna, though spelled with one N and her birthday was the same as mine, really a coincidence. I brought home a photo of her as a young child all dressed up and in a stroller, was a copy of the original she had. Nice weather and day overall.

Tonight was day 1 of a new project-
Many of you know already that our guest house was damaged extensively in hurrican Rita several years ago-about a month after Katrina.
Our insurance did not cover it as it would have if it was our primary residence so we didnt sink any more money into it.
We protected it from weather and gutted the damaged half .
My daughter was living there at the time waiting to get married in our yard in Nov.(Rita changed that and they married at the courthouse in Dallas)A huge tree landed on the entire south side of the house. (We were in the part of the storm that the eye wall passed over- winds come from one way at 150 mph and then whip around in the other direction at the same speed)

ANYWAY..... after much consideration and years of trying to reclaim our little homeplace we have decided to repair the house and the best part........ my younger daughter and her hubby will lease it from us(to pay off the loan). That means I'll ahve Wendy close by!!!!
Now if I could only figure out HOW to get Bekah and Andrew out here-I'd really be set!!!!

Hubby says 3 weeks-does that tell you how often I'll be online for the next 3 weeks??????
I guess ya can spend 10g in 3 weeks!!!!

Blessings,
Autumn

Autumn, oh, that's great...it's great that you get the place fixed and gain a much welcomed resident. That's pretty cool all the way around...kind of clever on your part I must say..hahahaha

Ronna, glad all went well and you had a nice visit.

Carol, I suggested a steamer trunk for Bev's doggie, Maddie..hahahah..she's 140 pounds..let's see they did make the huge steamer trunks for the long voyages..that ought to work for the husband..hahahaa

Good morning, ladies!!

Autumn~glad to hear you are feeling a little better. Great news that you will be able to fix the house and have Wendy nearby.

Ronna~It sounds like a really nice visit. Glad to hear that everything went well.

Jess~SNOWING?! OMG!! That can't be. We had rain all day yesterday and it's cloudy today but no snow. I hope it didn't last long.

We have about 100 things to do today, school, art lesson, pick up my son's new glasses, groceries, Joanne's~need more yarn~, post office and library. I hope we can get it all done today so I can stay home tomorrow.

I have a tea cozy to work on and I need to finish that bag~it's almost there.

Yeah- I have one of those enormous steamer trunks too!!!
It's so big it's out on my front proch now-too tall and wide for ANY room inside!!!
It's become a nuisance of sorts!!!!

YAY!!! I feel better today-and I'm upright before 4 in the evening!

My hubby keeps telling me that good things come to those who wait- I guess he's right again- I had wanted to fix the guest house up many times over the past 3 years but we just didnt have the heart to put back into it.
But now-the time has come!!!The whole family is excited to be working together on a project again!!!

Blessings,
Autumn

Autumn, Glad to hear you are feeling better and what exciting news abput your construction project. Take it easy the first few days,eh? You don't want to end up horizontal again...

I was up most of the night, listening to the rain, boy is it cold here this morning. I sewed blocks together from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m., then went back to bed to warm up a bit, snuggled down with cats and a whodunit...I've had my yogurt and now I'm considering making coffee to wash down my meds with, but I may just go back to bed for a while. I've got the sinus headache from hell this morning.

Ronna, It sounds like your visit went well, a bag of silk dresses for three bucks, I'm impressed.

When i woke up early this morning I couldn't figure out what the noise outside was and then I realized the ice has left the pond and the water is crashing over the little dam wall. This means the road should be washing out in a few days. Ah well, it is definitely a sign of spring...

Hope you are all well and warm, Karin

Sharon~did your mil visit yet or is that still coming up?

Jess~it's only you and John working on the coop. I think Autumn has a little more help.
