Today I made banana Bread and have made a pig of myself on it! Yum! I need to quit baking every day or I am soon going to be bigger than a house! LOL

This is my family's Banana Bread recipe from my Grandma-

Ingredients:
1 3/4 Cups Flour
3/4 tsp Baking Soda
1 1/4 tsp Cream of Tartar
1/2 tsp Salt
1/3 cup shortning
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup mashed bananas

Sift together soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Beat shortening, stir in sugar a few tbsp at a time until fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Add flour alternately with bananas a small amount at a time.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hr.

Makes 1 loaf.

Given to you as my grandmother wrote it down for me. :D

I use really really ripe bananas too. Like the ones that have so many black spots on the peel that no one will eat them. After I mash them, I give them a minute or two to brown in the air so the flavor is more bananay.
