Please be sure to read Meg's request below for your choice of crafts for our big day!! 
Invitations have been mailed out and I cannot wait to see all of you! I promised hotel info, and am giving you the name of the best one in our area. It is about 20 minutes from my house (because we live in the boonies) but it is simple, simple to get there from the hotel. So, if you need a room for the night, call:

This is where me sister and her family stay when they all come to visit, so it comes well-recommended.
You may want to check with each other and see about sharing a room.

I can't wait to get home today to see if the invitation is there! Also, I highly recommend Country Inn and Suites too. We have stayed in them often as we travel to Illinois. They have a nice breakfast in the mornings.

We all can not wait for our visit! And meeting all ya'll (do I have that right?)  I think we're going to make rag rugs AND...we are bringing our darling Katy King, the queen of tatting...so I think we get to do some tatting too. It is going to be such FUN! I can't wait to meet you all!!

Kathie~ Rag rugs will be perfect for you then. Believe me, I am the one that tests the patterns at the farm because Mom figures, if I can do it then anyone can. If that gives you a sense of my skill level. And I love making rag rugs, big and ______(oh, I almost said easy but I get frusterated when someone says easy before they've ever seen me attempt it)! So, at least, I think you'll like trying it.
Karin and all the other girls we have the honor of meeting while at Karin's~ I would like to get a count of what we should bring for crafting kits. If ya'll could email or just post here:
1. Do you want a kit and lesson for crocheting rag rugs?
2. Do you want a kit and lesson for tatting?
Please choose both, neither or one! But let me know...Thanks gals....can't wait!!

Meg.. I feel SOO much better knowing that YOU too have been "Tatting challanged!!"
If all else fails we can sit off to the side & sulk.. or.. Compare notes on Mini Apron's or someting! OR giggle at everyone else making an attempt at what we just absolutley KNEW we couldn't do to begin with!! ( I'm leaning towards the latter!!)
But which ever it turns out to be.. i Just Know we will all have a fantastic time!!

I know!! Karin is soo awesome about inviting gals from this board!! She could have just invited her "local" friends!!!Karin definately has ALL those wonderful Farmgirl qualities!!
Kathie! I love you! I would give my teeth(at least the silver filling ones....) to fly out there! My husband has been on the warpath with the money issue-hence-I finally got a job! I understand-he's ready to retire and my kids go to very expensive private colleges! I'm on a very tight leash!!! But I'll be thinking about all you guys all day long!!! Take LOTS of pictures!!!!!!Hugs and more hugs! |

Okay - I will probably sit there looking at all my "new" friends and not say a word or do a thing! I hope I can function with the excitement I will be feeling! Tatting? Rag Rug making? I will give both of these a try, as they will both be new to me. But as long as I am there, anything is okay!!!!
