KENTUCKY FARMGIRLS .. (and all ya'll that don't mind a little drive or plane ride!) sure hope you'll join us here in Green County, Kentucky on October 10/11 for a quick stop-over for MaryJane and family! will put all the 'particulars' on my blog (and the 'particulars' will probably change right up to the day of their visit! But i reeeeeeeeeeeely want to know if you will be joining us .. cuz' .. i'm gonna' create a little 'sewie' project for each of us! .. remember check my blog often if you plan to visit .. and be SURE to e-mail me to let me know. sooooooooo excited! this will be grande fun! xo

this is on my 'blog' .. but thought i should post it here too .. so as not to miss any of you gurlz that would like to join us here in kentucky to meet MaryJane and family! (but check my blog for changes and additions). e-mail me right away if you can come!
MaryJane and Meg and Lucas and little Stella Jane (and maybe another farm friend of hers too) ... will arrive at FREEDOM VALLEY FARM .. sometimes in the afternoon on Wednesday, October 10th. They will have a little 'relaxin' time until that evening .. when .. we will venture into our little village of GREENSBURG for some fun festivities in honor of their visit.
I would HIGHLY recommend that if you are going to join us ... to meet us at our historic Courthouse .. right smack in the center of town (and town .. is only two or three blocks long .. sooo .. you can't get lost!) By the way .. our Courthouse is the OLDEST COURTHOUSE WEST OF THE ALLEGHENY MOUNTAINS!!! It is small and charming .. made of stone.
On Thursday, October 11 .. we'll gather at about 10 a.m. to spend some 'sewin' time with MaryJane and the gurlz. (we'll send hank and lucas off to wander in the woods .. or maybe over to Green River Lake!)
I'll be making one little 'sewie' kit for everyone ... soooo ... i will need to defintely know if you will be joining us .. and please feel free to bring as many friends as you'd like. (but let me know how many).
Originally, before i knew MaryJane would be in this area .. i had planned to do an 'all-day' sewing class making lots of sewies on Saturday, October 6th) .. sooo .. there was a ten dollar fee ... well .. since we're only going to do ONE SEWIE project on this day .. there will be no fee .. BUT .. i still reeeeeeeeeeely, reeeeeeeeeeely need to know how many are coming.
NOW .. i am probably one of the ten worse 'cooks' in the world (ha! and proud of it!) .. i think we'll troooooooly jus' do a fun 'peanut butter and jelly' sandwich picnic lunch (like when we were kids!) t'will make it easy on me so i don't get all 'kerflumped' over a real 'menu' .. and trying to not BURN whatever i make!
if you work .. oh doooo play hookey!
NOW .. if you reeeeeeeeeeeely want a fun exciting time ... come Wednesday .. and book one of our 'cabins' in town (only ten miles from me) .. i think there are only three available ... they sleep from two to four .. sooo .. it would be fun if you shared a cabin with some more 'farmgirl friends'. Come early .. and check out our town! Glovers Station Antique Mall ... the adorable Plaid Peacock .. and Lucy Tuckers (we are trying to conjure up a dinner at Lucy's on Wednesday evening .. they are only open for lunch .. but .. we're checking to see if they can stay open just for us. you WILL need a reservation .. and if it does happen .. you would have to make it through me. Lucy Tuckers is ADORABLE .. but tiny!! And already, there are Green County friends who have reserved (if it happens!) If you come early .. you can 'do' lunch there .. and be sure to tell them you are a farmgirl friend of frannie's! Same thing at the Plaid Peacock and Glover's Station Antiques Mall. And that is about IT for shoppin' .. unless .. time allows us to meet you in town and i'll take everyone to sweet Kathy's Cobblestone Farm jus' down the road.
IF you get there early .. and have some extra time .. be sure to visit the beach or boat dock at Green River Lake just off of Route 55 outside of Campbellsville (next town over from Greensburg). We also have our sweet little CIRCLE OF FRIENDS GARDEN behind the olde Clerk's Office (my favorite building in town!) .. it's right beside the olde Courthouse. A great place to sit and read a book and sip an iced tea that you can get from the town drugstore (or McDonald's at one end of town .. or the 'chicken place' at t'other).
You will get to visit this wonderful little place that i am always raving about!
I'm working on getting an 'evening tour' of town led by our youth group too! And maybe a coupla' other surprizes too! All this will happen on WEDNESDAY .. soooo .. i hope you really can make it on that day too!
MaryJane does want to 'sit and sew' with her farmgirls on Thursday .. sooo .. i hope you will make a 'two-day' little vacation-ette out of it! By the way .. in Campbellsville (10 miles from Greensburg, there is a Holiday Inn Express where you can stay also!) Once you let me know you are coming .. i can give you phone numbers for the Holiday Inn and to reserve a cabin.
BE SURE to let me know by e-mail if you and some friends can join us!
(i'll be in Toledo ... from Thursday through next Monday) .. but i'll be back home sweet kentucky home after that time!)

Jonni (from Kenton County, Northern KY)....I know all about your courthouse and all about the area, so it won't be too big a deal to get where I'm heading.

jonni ... next 'days' is more like it .. gosh .. only 28 days .. now .. jonni .. will you and your mom be staying the night .. and attending maryjane's 'sewing circle of friends' on thursday? let me know .. cuz' i gotta' whip up some 'kits' for everyone. you DON'T want to miss wednesday night's celebration though!! xo

I'm going to say it's probably just going to be Wednesday, Frannie. I'd love to do both days, but I'm not sure how much vacation time I still have left--I leave this weekend for a week in the outerbanks, so I think I may have used it all up!!!

I wish I could come both days...but that Thursday will be the last of my discretionary vacation days for the year.... Thursday will be great enough to meet MaryJane, Frannie, and the Farmgirls! I'm so excited! I'm making a new apron for the affair!

I'm leaving for a cross-country road trip on Monday with my daughter, a friend and her daughter. We may actually be in your area on those dates! I will have to check in we get closer...

oh sharon .. and nash .. it would be truly grande if you could join us. be sure to let me know as soon as you know .. cuz' i'm wanting to conjure up some cute little 'kits' for us to 'sit and sew' on october 11th. but i mus' say .. october 10th evening is going to be grande fun!
honey hunk and i just returned from toledo celebrating sofia's first birthday .. but there was a message waiting for me that some of our town 'kids' will give maryjane a 'lantern light' (if it is DARK enuff) tour of our town of Greensburg (two whole blocks long!) this is something they have done for lots of 'visiting dignitaries'! they also made a wonderful CD of this tour .. and it won prizes!!! and one of the young ladies (LIZZIE RAY) responsible for this whole project is one of the 5 families near where i live. She is sweet and bright and very talented .. attended our Governor's Youth Camp this summer!
working on hopefully having a dinner at our ADORABLE Lucy Tucker's Tea Room too. IF we can pull that one off (they don't usually serve dinner .. just lunch) .. everyone who wishes to attend will need to make a RESRVATION .. cuz' lucy's is soooooooo cute .. but NOT "big". then, i think the plan is to go to our olde courthouse for a fun 'meet and greet' gathering. (i would love to find time to fit in a trip to our cute 'cobblestone farms' down the raod .. owned by a gurlfren of mine. sooooooooooooooooo .. ef'fen you can come the evening of the tenth .. t'will be grande fun!
