Thanks Alee! I have this but I don't take anything on a regular basis - so far I don't HAVE to. I know I need to revamp my diet again (felt great on the Maker's Diet) but it's REALLY hard when we are living in a tent!
Thanks again,
Holly

Good idea, Cutie. I think I did one a couple of years ago...can't remember, fibro fog lol. Don't forget acupuncture, ladies! (I think I'll be singing that song for a while)

Good for you Patricia. A web that Ronna gave me was www.fibrohugs.com That had good info and support. My doc appt on Tuesday but now I feel like I can ask the right questions. My mom has it but not severe. Alee, smart idea getting it all in one place.

Here are a couple of links that have a lot of info about fibro and the latest info on research, doctors, treatment, etc. Glad you started this thread, Alee! Having had fibro for 17 years, sometimes its easy to think I'm the only one out there with this.

Thanks Allee!
This is great. As a fibro suffer there are weeks when even lying in bed hurts SOOOO bad. I have found a few things that help ( non precription).
1. A couple of times a week I do a detox bath with herbs, dead sea salt & epsom salt - it is a mixture I make
2. Gentle stretching exercises
3. Drink LOTS of water to help flush toxins out of the body
4. Rest
I am looking forward to hearing what you guys others are doing

Glad to see this thread. I have lupus and the fibro symptoms that go along with it since 1994.
Patricia...what chinese herbs do you take? If you don't mind sharing.
We have a Vetnamese/Cambodian man that owns a store that we go to frequently. After he found out I had lupus he gave me some herbal medicine and it has done wonders for me. The only english on the bottle says bone joint formula. I trust him and one of my friends also has lupus and she takes another formula that he thinks is better for her. I have very little pain and my fatique level is manageable since I have been taking it for the past 18 months. I am waiting on him to get my shipment in right now and I can really tell a difference with the swelling and pain level.

The best medical advice I can give is to have an "attitude of gratitude"! I hurt. I'm tired. I don't feel like moving. But, I keep saying thank you to God for letting me still walk and function! Susan |

OMG! I'm in the midst of the worst fibro flare I've ever had, and I've been battling this beast for 17 years. I just saw my doc, too. I generally stay away from heavy duty pain meds for fibro as I know one can become dependant, but also they generally don't work very well on fibro. But THIS time I gladly took pain meds and am having a very rough time with wide spread body pain, jabs of pain, nausea, sensitivity to light and herpes in my NOSE (!!!). Seriously!!! I actually think my HAIR HURTS! Please, if anyone is inclined, keep me in your prayers and thoughts. Much appreciated...

Oh Jana!
I am so sorry to hear you are suffering!
Does swimming help at all with fibro? I have heard that exercise helps and I wonder if the low impact of the water helps?

Jana - I am so sorry. I know how bad it can get. There were days I know my hair hurt. I soak in warm baths, take pain meds ( only when this bad) and PRAY. I have to remind myself that it is a FLAIR UP and not a permenant state of being. You are in my prayers....

Finally yesterday the pain started to get better. A well meaning friend brought me a 5 gallon pail of apples. Nice thought, but lots of work. I made sauce to freeze today and was very sore after, so I hope I didn't make things worse. My days and nights are mixed up, but thats pretty normal for me. I'm starting to feel a bit happier now. In the midst of a flare I often wonder, "what if it never goes away?" I did the acupuncture thing for a while but it seemed to flare things up. Massage worked for a while, but is quite expensive for us. My husband rubs my feet and back which is relaxing, and hot baths are always a help, at least mentally. I drink lots of water and try to avoid junk foods. I sleep when I need to. I've wondered about herbs but I take rx drugs so I worry about interactions. I do take supplements that my doctor recommended, a muti vitamin, vitamin D, Glucosomine and Omega 3 fish oil. These are not necessarily for fibro, but other issues, too. Thank you to all who had me in thoughts and prayers. I'm so glad this thread is here. I'll take all the support I can get!

Fibro is a horrible and misunderstood disease. My heart goes out to you all that have it. I have it and have had it in varying degrees of intensity for years. I guess as you all know you learn to deal with it but sometimes it makes you feel so useless - I take Vicodin only when I absolutely have to. I have been bad and have been off my joint pills - glucosamine and chondoitin and MSM - so I need to start taking them again. I hate the fibro fog most of all, that is when I feel I have the attention span of a two year old if I am lucky. I can't focus so when I get clear minded and can, I make the most use of it - Trouble sleeping seems to be the worst for me and I try not to take Ambien but when I get not sleeping right for a long time I know I have to. Herbal remedies help - I am taking Motherwort tincture for my nerves (and menopause) and also drinking infusions of Red Clover and Oates - the Red Clover makes me feel wonderful! Also for your immune system, try some tincture of Lemon Balm. Blessed Be Kathy of the Enchanted Wood
