there have been several post lately about products from other counties like China not being safe. The latest is the thread about fabric made in China. I thought it would be a great idea if we had one thread that we could find links to places that ONLY sold made in the USA items.
Here are 2 places I have ordered from that are USA only products
http://twodogswarehouse.com/(clothing and other items)
http://www.pointerbrand.com/(jeans and work clothes)

Come on ladies share your links too.
Lets buy as local as we can.

I was just thinking about this...I am trying so hard to use my buying power by purchasing locally and hopefully in the US only..I sew most of the clothes I make and my girls too..will be sewing more for my husband and son but have struggled finding fabrics that clearly say made in USA... I will do some serious research here and share what I find. Thank you for starting this thread..
Many smiles,

Thank you SO much garliclady--I have often wished for a website just like that "MADE IN USA". I would much rather pay a bit more (if that's the case) and support our workers and know I'm buying a solid product that someone is proud of. I believe we seriously need to focus on our country and neighbors at this time.

YES!!!I'm all over this idea! It is so hard to find anything made in the USA, but it's so exciting when you do. My husband is better about being aware of this than I am. But because of his watchful eye we just bought a pair of cowgirl boots, socks all make in USA. oUR ELECTRIC co. sends out a big paper and it has spotlights about diff. companies in MO. they had one this last time about a wooden train company. I thank the name was "little train that could"?? anyway I love this idea and it goes along with MJ's plan of selling products from local handmade friends (sorry i couldn't remember what she calls it?)

I have become aware recently of how many of the products available to us are made in places other than the US. Thanks for the links, it's time we started supporting our own country and suppling jobs for those in the US. I think our economy would do well if our money were kept here.

eSarah- i'm in north mo. where is new london at? I know i posted about this store some place but this is where it should be. I found it through a comment in MJs book (or mag.) Lehmans.com this store is way to cool. I just want to go and look around, and so much stuff MADE IN USA. check it out and make up your list; also Dawn they have toys, and so much more. the VermontCounrtystore.com is good too, lots of old toys, i'm not sure about where they come from but call the company

Thanks for the tip Shawna. I found more websites when I do a search for "American Made Toys". I discovered that wording it that way when searching store websites (Target, Toys 'R Us, etc.) gives me a list of toys made in the USA only. There's not a lot to choose from, but I'm doing my best to make sure my 4 year old son's toys are made in this country!

So glad to see this thread. My hubbie and I went to a Keep it Made in America town hall meeting w/ John Ratzenburger (Cheers/Made in America)last Thursday. It was a very informative session. It was really nice to see others who are desiring a move of more stuff being made in this country...which will strengthen our communities and our economy.

We are planning on getting Made in the USA toys for my two nephews.

This is such a good idea.

I think we're going to get fewer things for the girls this year and focus on quality.

I'm trying to convince my husband to build a dollhouse. :) I'll let y'all know how it goes!

Hi garliclady, It's interesting that you mentioned shoddy goods from China. A couple of days ago I read in our paper that Chineese parents are buying products from other countrys,Legos, etc. because they were unhappy with the quality of their own products.
That says it all.

I agree that toys and other goods from China are not very well made. I would love to buy all of my products from the US, but that can get very difficult. But I have decided to really try in the new year. I have also decided to do the same for food. I would love to do the 100 mile diet. However we are so spoiled to some produce that is not grown within 100 miles that I know I can't or won't give it up. But even if I just pay closer attention to where my food and products are from I figure I am make strides in the right direction.

every little bit can make a diff, but we really should check our life and ask what is worth giving up now for a better stronger America and the generation that will live in her future! change can be hard, but oh so worth it!
