Feels like Fall here today, feels real good, but does Summer always feel like its going away in August? I will have to pay closer attention in the future.
Went to the thrift and picked up a few things, posted the pictures of course. Then picked up a nice steak for the grill, sweet corn, and baby potatoes and a strawberry bread loaf. I must admit I had to have a taste of it as soon as I got it home. Well yummy it is! NO I didn't get that stuff at the thrift.Got it all at a little market we go to called PEDDELERS.
Been working on a new redwork embroidery, and reading. Trying to put a dent in all the books I have here that are waiting for me.
All the grand daughters will be here tomorrow, I keep them on Mondays until school starts. Please tell me school is starting soon! HA.

Sounds like a great Sunday at your house. It feels like fall here also. The Vine Maples in the woods are turning red and yellow. They always start in august and it looks pretty among all the green. It is raining today so Kylee's gaming show (horse-barrels etc) was called off. My daughter and family from East of the mountains are here--they showed up Friday night (3am). Another day at the zoo. Bring dinner and come on over. MB

Yes, this is a beautiful day. In our neck of the woods/state it is lightly raining. Perfect for holeing up in ones craft/sewing room and catching up on long ago set aside projects.
I found my Josh Grobin CD's and am now headed to my "room" to sew.....I love days like today.
I am sloping around the house in comfy pants and a sweater and am wearing a pair of hand knited socks that were knitted just for my by one of my volunteers. With tea cup in hand, I am shuffling off, I bid you all a relaxing lazy afternoon.

Oh ladies I wish I could be at home on this rainy/cool Sunday like all of you. Unfortunately my job situation is still me working every single weekend 2nd shift so althought I get to attend church services and sometimes get an hour or two to spend at home - I'm then cooped up here in this windowless room at work. You might be able to tell from my tone that I'm feeling very burned out right now on this situation. I wish I could just have a normal weekend break (my days off now are Tues & Wed) and relax after church with some homemade food and the company of my family. I feel like I need to make some changes so I've been applying for work elsewhere so hopefully an opportunity arises soon.
But I like picturing all of you enjoying this day especially for those in the northern parts of the States that are seeing a sneakpeak of some autumn weather!

MB, I might be running a bit late getting to your house as distance is a problem, but keep the porch light on.

TABATHA,
I know what that is like, working the weekends, especially Sundays. I did it for many years, and boy when I got a Sunday off- what a treat. So your day will come, good luck on looking for something with better hours. There must be something out there.

I am sitting in the sewing room, catching up on some of my emails, enjoying the rain like Grace. It is cool and a reprieve. I am grateful.
Have a pot of homemade veggie soup on the stove and drinking a cup of tea. Yep, sewing is next.

Enjoying life.
