This past week I've been away up at our "camp" and had a chance to go into town for some groceries and poke around in the local junk/antique stores. I found the cutest lampshade for $2.00 that we could all make. It basically is a pair of jeans(small size) turned into a skirt w/calico insert ( think hippie dippy jean skirts from the 60's -70's). Through the waist is a sash that you can tie to slightly gather at the top of the shade. Hem, fray or add lace to the bottom of the skirt and pull over the top of a cheapy shade and Voila! Instant country cute ! WARNING: Beware of teenage boys who make rude comments... I never said it would be great in a BOYS room! And thank goodness I don't have the "leg lamp" from A Christmas Story! I'll say no more! Happy stitching, I'm back to camp and hopefully it will be cooler this week for everyone!
cute idea...I can see my oldest boys when they were teenagers..heck even now in their 20's teasing me. They tease me about my basket purse, my overalls and just about everything! (I think it is more loving teasing now than when they were in high school though!!) That leg lamp makes me laugh just to think of it...a classic!!
