I milked cows Thursday. It had been a number of years since I had milked a goat. But when a friend asked it I wanted to milk some cows, I said sure and helped. I guess that could be considered connecting with other farmgirls, I mean if you pitch in to help with chores it makes everyone happy!!!

I did post a better story about it on my blog if anyone is interested.

Thanks
Amy

Amy -- good for you! I worked on a dairy farm when I was in high school. Thank goodness they had electric milking machines -- I have never been able to milk properly. I just tug and tug and nothing happens! Your blog is great!

Amy,
love your tea pot collection and cute musings. Sorry about Tiger.
Tea parties are so delightful and are fun to host. I have quit a few books on "teas' & High Teas and the Art of Teas.....if only I could find them! There are still a lot of unpacked boxes. Hopefully by next week I will get to them.
Till then, take time for tea and daydreaming.

It sounds like you had a good time. I haven't helped out at a dairy farm since I was in junior high (early '70"s). We visited my cousin's (Windy Pines Farmgirl) dairy farm one winter. I got to bed the cows down every evening & tidy up the barn. I loved doing it, but sadly that was the last time I got to work in a barn. My uncle kept his barn spotless, as well as the farmyard too.

Amy - I love milking cows! It was one of my favorite things growing up. We didn't have our own cows but my mom worked at the Billing Farm and Museum in Woodstock Vermont which also is a working dairy farm. Since we knew the head farmer I would get to go there all the time and milk the cows both manually and mechanically. It was such a great experience. I ofter participated in farm demonstrations as well with milking, butter churning etc. It was so fun! I enjoyed your blog and I added it to my blogroll!

I haven't ever milked a cow, but I have milked goats. I am so glad you had fun! :)

I am glad that you enjoyed reading my blog ladies. I had fun even though it was 100+ degrees. Thank you for the kind words about Tiger we still miss him. The fueral for both the bird and the cat was yesterday morning.

Julie thank you for adding me to your blog roll. I was reading some on your site, and that Juice Bag is pretty cool. A bit pricey for me, but an awesome idea.

Grace, I do enjoy tea things and tea parties, as soon as it starts to cool down I plan on having one outside this fall.

Thanks again ladies
Amy
