Hello Ladies. This is my first ever post in a chat room of any kind...can you believe it. Althought I found Mary Jane's magazine quite a while ago, guess I haven't checked out her website for quite a while.Nice surprise to find such a wonderful forum to make new friends and share ideas. I will share a little about myself and my daughter, the other farm femme in my life.I am a 47 year old city born -farm girl at heart.I live in the country, 24 miles from the nearest "big city", which isn't so big.We have been here for 12 years, and are still trying to tame our 3 little acres of heaven. It seems the more you do, the more there is to do! Been married to my high school sweetheart for nearly 30 years, we have 3 wonderful daughters 27, 23 and 21. The oldest, Bridget has given us three little grandbabies, 6, 4 and 3 years old, Russell Maggie and Molly. They are the light in all our lives.Being a Nana is the greatest job I have ever had, all the fun and none of the responsibilites. My middle daughter, Erin, is a typical middle child, brilliant, difficult, always in the middle of a crisis. I know you moms of more than two can relate. My youngest Holly is the other half of Fabulous Farm Femmes. She and are country girls, love MJ, vintage anything, sewing, quilting, the Forties, nesting, cooking, reading. I am the organic gardener, she is a vegetarian. I do all the work, she does all the eating. I am chubby, she is not. Life is not fair. She served a year in AmeriCorp in So. Carolina, and she is currently enrolled in Army ROTC in college to obtain a nursing RN and serve as an Army nurse. She is my inspiration, my conscience, my social reformer and spiritual guide.I would have had 10 more if they had all turned out like her. She and I are planning a trip to see Mary Janes farm in mid August, so we are very excited about that! Enough about us...looking forward to meeting all of you in "person" so to speak. Love to all the farm girls, Diane

Hi there, Diane & family, Welcome, neighbors!! Actually, my husband and I are moving over to eastern Washington next month to begin our own farming adventure with goats and gardens. Sounds like you and Holly will have your own adventures visiting Mary Jane's farm this summer. My son goes to school in Pullman, so I'm planning to combine a visit with him and a trip to Mary Janes some time this school year. I've only just discovered this forum myself quite recently and have learned a lot so far.
See you around, Deborah
