![](icons/icon_smile_cool.gif) ![](icons/icon_smile_cool.gif) Hey Farm Girls!
Need help in planning a small party for my boss. She is a member of the HOWDY YA'LL FARMGIRL chapter so we have decided to surprise her with a farm girl party at the branch library in 2 weeks. Need ideas that are cute but can be carried out on a very small budget. There will only be about 7 people attending.
Thanks
Connie

Remember the old family picnics? Farm style? Didn't cost a dime...all that was needed was the important people and good food. Make it simple.
Fresh flowers in canning jars. Potato salad and deviled eggs. Sandwiches. Fresh fruit. Home-made ice cream if possible. Layer cake with candles and home-made icing. Lay a red kerchief on the table under the flowers. Give the birthday girl a cowboy hat to wear. Make the gifts garden gloves, seed packets, baskets of veggies or canned goods, cookbooks, then sit around and tell stories.
I hope she has a wonderful birthday, but it sounds like she already has wonderful friends. jpbluesky

you know what is cute is to put the silver (or plastic) ware and folded napkin inside one of the gloves (with the other underneath it and tie around the palm of the hand of the glove with raffia.flowers in canning jars for sure!! A cowboy boot with a canning jar down inside makes a cute vase too, should you do a cowgirl theme.

Fantastic ideas here...just adding my 2 cents worth...You know those cheap plastic little barnyard animals? They are in the toy section of any discount store...put a little mini barnyard on top of her cake. Little cows, horses, sheep, chickens and pigs grazing and walking around. HEE HAW!!!!
