Did anyone see the article on MaryJane in the newest Country Home magazine? I bought the magazine solely for that article. It was a nice article with beautiful photos of the farm. There were some recipes as well. One was for a cucumber and zucchini salad that looks delicious! I am going to make it as soon as my cherry tomatoes begin to ripen.

Nicol, Which issue is the article in? What is on the cover? When I go to a newstand trying to find one issue of a magazine in hundreds of similar looking magazines can be a challenge! Thanks for the tip! Jenny from Kansas

I think it's the September issue and I can't remember what was on the cover. I will have to check when I get home. (I spent to much time reading the new Harry Potter book this weekend.) I'll let you know tomorrow.

Found it! It's the September issue that is out now. On the front are rattan/wicker dining chairs around a white tableclothed table, ferns in pots at the window. Can't miss it because MaryJane's name is on the lower left frame of the cover! Now off to read!

Thank you Clare! I did remember to bring my magazine to work today so I could describe it to everyone but you beat me to it! How did you like the article?

Well, it's not so much an article as it is a photo shoot with captions, is it? Great promo piece for MJ and company though. I love the eggs in the canning jar thing and think I'll try it! And, I love the table of contents pic with MJ and Meg in the double swing!

Articles always seem to be limited in scope, I suppose because they are limited in space and must choose one thing to focus on; when in fact we all know that all of MJ's endeavors offer a much broader, multi-dimentential, wide angle life.

Just got my Country Home mag and saw the MJ article...Very nice!!!! Love the sound of that Harvest Stew recipe! The pics of MJ and Megan are precious! Love the one of them dancing in the wheat field with their aprons on! Now on to the Country Living topic to post some comments there! What would we do girls without our magazines on these blistering summer days???

I was just admiring the sweet picture of Mary Jane and Megan on the swing and noticed the plaid jacket MJ has on...It looks to be a vintage Pendelton 49er...I have 3 of those jackets. Two of them are my grandmothers handsewn knockoffs which are tailored and exactly the same as the real 49er. One is a red and black and grey plaid and the other is a black/cream and grey plaid. My grandma was a very small woman, probably a small size 8 so the jackets are quite snug on me. I found another exact reproduction of the 49er in 1999 in a green plaid in Whispering Pines catalog and purchased it. I love them! They are unlined but very well made. I wear it in fall and even winter with my bibs, jeans, pants, and skirts. MJ's is a lovely shade of blue... Couldn't help but notice MJ!! Thanks for bringing out your 49er!!!!

Yes, I noticed that too. My mom had one that lasted a long time, but she no longer has it. At GW this spring, I found a homemade version that is identical. So warm and cuddly to wear. It's a new treasure!

Pendleton has the 49er jacket again in some nice colors. Check out their site: http://www.pendleton-usa.com/shopping/search/searchresultsmain.jsp?fresh=1&searchType=advanced&iMainCat=0&iSubCat=0&attribute14=0&attribute15=0&attribute16=0&RS=1&keyword=49er

Thanks Rosemary! Yikes they have gotten really pricey over the last few years! I did not spend near that amount when I bought mine! Need to lose weight so I can blast my way into my grandma's 49ers. The colors are very nice...the clay/moss is my favorite. My Mother had a similar 49er jacket made of bright red wool I loved. She sold it or gave it to GoodWill decades ago.

Kim, I tried 2 or 3 times from this site. Do you have a different email now? We need to get together! Hubby flies to KC now and then, next time I could hitch a ride. It would be cheaper and faster, if you could pick me up at the airport? I HATE to fly though!
