For all of those who requested photos. Here they are. The following are from the family farm. The farm has been in my Husbands family for generations. We do not own it(it still belongs to my husbands parents) but we have the pleasure of living on it and enjoying its beauty daily.

Here is the original homestead. It is nearly 90 years old. This style of house is called a Queenslander, it is designed to keep out the Queensland sun.

And this is the little cottage I live in. It is small but we call it the love shack because we built it with our very own hands when we were first married.

I hope you have enjoyed my little photo tour of "Ludwig Hills" (that's The name of the property). I will have more photos of my very own farm "Lochness" next week, so stay tuned.

It's gorgeous, Shirley. Lucky to be able to drink in such beauty everyday. And those "girls" of yours! Just wanna kiss their snouts.
Ok, this is REALLy silly and REALLY american of me, but your lovely little cottage reminds me of the Thornbirds--it looks like the cottage that Meggie lived in when she married that no good (but very HOT) Luke guy!

I love your farm! And your cattle seem so sweet and docile! How big are they? Do you milk them?

Thanks for the beautiful pictures. The houses are lovely. I like your flower bed in your front yard. The cows have a wonderful pasture to graze in too. Enjoy your swims in the wallow!

Thak you all for your nice comments. Jonni, you make me laugh. Alee, The cows are rather large and some of the bigger ones have the same head height as me! You are right they are very docile and some will walk right up to you for a pat! We do not milk them they are bred for beef.

I have seen cows that are that big- they can be kindof intimidating- but are very impressive! Yours look beautiful!

Shirley, You are so lucky to live in such a gorgeous place! The land is breathtaking and very well kept. I like your little cottage with the pretty garden and your 'ladies' look very happy! Thanks for the pictures.

Hi again Shirley, Your farm looks fantastic - just what I like with the rolling hills. My mother-in-law used to have a farm in the Glasshouse Mountains, which was lovely. Best wishes, Jayne |

Beautiful country!! I have friends in Sydney for work. Is all of Australia so beautiful? Here in Louisiana we have no hills and the creek- well that just looks like the one on "Little House on the Prarie" Lovely! Autumn

oh Shirley...i love your farm...i used to live near you for a short time...well a might bit North though in Gladstone! I miss it so much and hope one day my husband and I can go back and se some sights and visit some of my friends. I just love seeing that beautiful Queensland countryside and oh for the love of a Queenslander...I have sworn to my husband if we should ever decide to move out of this house and buy a big track of land that the builder must replicate a Queenslander for me! Thanks for joining us here on the farm and showing us your piccies!! |
