Ok, so we stayed in a beautiful hotel in Texas that had featherbeds on the bed. Are they supposed to go under the fitted sheet or on top? I have seen it both ways. I want to get one because both DH and I enjoyed it so much and we slept better.
Cheers,

I always put our featherbed under the fitted sheet. That way there is an extra layer that you can wash more frequently. Our featherbed is so huge that it can only be washed about once a year or so and it has to be done in the summer so it can dry outside. If I want someone else to wash it, it will cost between $100- $200 just to get it cleaned. Ours has about 6 inches of loft and is king size though. You can buy smaller ones too.

ours is under the fitted sheet .. but oh my! we stayed at a log cabin b&b .. and there were two or three thick feather tickings .. on TOP of the fitted sheet .. with a flat sheet overtop of it .. it was like sleeping on a cloud .. and i don't remember why .. but the top sheet did not scoot all about .. i do believe they had it tied down .. cuz' there was some shaken' of the sheets that evening and they stayed put! (blush! blush!)
