In the absence of my son ...during the past 3 weeks I have only been mowing the part of our yard that is visable to the public....the rest is knee high and can not be differentiated from the field in back of my property. I kinda like it wild flowers and other cool stuff is popping up everywhere...HOWEVER, I am showing the house next week so I need to make it look like the type of yard your average middle class home buyer expects...I know my hand push mower won't cut it. I do not have a riding mower so I called someone they want $80 for the first hour and 30 for any additional time....is this a average price or am I getting ripped off I have no idea as I have never had anyone cut my grass.

I don't know Sweetie.. You & I know it's more then we'd ever WANT to have to pay.. but.. It probably is what it should be.. Maybe call some realtor's to see what the going rate is.. I'm sure they have several properties that they have to have this done for.. See what they've had to pay.. They may even have some other people to recommend...
or better yet.. invest in a couple Goats!!! Borrow someones!!
That is supposed to make you smile!!! Good Luck Kiddo!

Hit it with the weedwacker first, then mow it yourself. Much cheaper! |

I think actually because it is knee high it's just going to be more difficult for anyone either with a push mower or riding mower to get through..so yes to start I think $80 is probably going to be reasonable. If it was regular lawn height about half that to start, but since as you mentioned it is knee high..yeah..I can see it costing $80.

Do you think your tractor man travels far? He can come to Georgia! I don't really have grass anymore though I ripped it all out two years ago and I have flower/vegatable beds now.
