Thought I'd post a little blurb here too. I am sending out small bundles of Workbasket Magazine to Farmgirls. If you would like a few, let me know. These are vintage magazines from the 50's, 60's and 70's. They are filled with wonderful patterns....crochet, knitting and sewing...patterns that you just can't find now. IF you would like a few, let me know. I have this on the barter posting too, so if you would like to send me a little card or a gardening magzine, I wouldn't be opposed! But you don't have to. I am cleaning and weeding in preparation for our big move..........Just didn't want to donate these little jewels. I'd rather they go to good Farmgirl homes where I know they will be well loved!!

Aunt George, I have gardening magazines, but they are called Canadian Gardening. I would be happy to send some to you, as there might be a few tips for your area as well. Thanks so much for offering..... MJ

Mary Jane and Tasha.......send me your addresses!! I'm doing up bundles today and will be going to the post office tomorrow with all of the boxes I owe to Farmgirls!!!
MJ.....I really want to move North, so Canadian Mags would really be interesting to me. My husband is convinced one cannot grow tomatoes north of the Mason Dixon line! LOL.......
Tasha, the girls will be thrilled knowing something is coming from you! I adore that little piece of pottery you send last time. The one with the three muses...red clay with the green wash...there is something about it that just really feels wonderful! Did you make that?

Georgann,
Tell your husband he's wrong. I grow tomatos like nobody's business! and i am WELL above the Mason-Dixon line!
Nope I did not make that. I found a box of all sorts of clay pieces and pottery two years ago at a garage sale for a stinkin dollar! I love giving those away. They are the Muses from the painting, La Primavera by Sandro Boticelli. I loe that paiting so I was SUPER thrilled that those were in the box!
I have done a little pottery in the past 6 months, but not to that degree yet. Working on it though!

That's good to know about the tomatoes in MN and Canada. I want to move north. I am craving the piney woods. The south is hot and buggy and humid from March until November many times. There are short respits, but I'm an Illinois girl at heart. We used to take fishing vacations in Minnesota when I was a girl and I LOVED it. Stayed in wood log cabins, piney woods, clear lakes......that is where I want to be. Went to Niagara Falls a few years ago......some of the most beautiful countryside ever was across the Canadian border around the lakes up there.....so beautiful. That is one reason I would love to look around the finger lakes of New York, but the taxes are sky high....I don't want taxes as high as a house payment!!

Georgann, you are right about living in the Finger Lakes of NY! Yes it's lovely here but our taxes are high. My husband and I are thinking about moving south, becasue our son will be going to school in Florida, maybe NC or SC but we are so torn because it is beautiful here but the winters are horrible. Neither one of us enjoys winter sports so we spend 4 or 5 months complaining about the weather and worrying about driving to work in the snow. I guess everywhere you go there will be a little fly in the ointment! Angie.
