My mom and I were driving from Worland, WY to Powell, WY today to let Nora see her Grandma and Great-Grandma on her dad's side.

As we passed a little town (Manderson) we saw about6-10 dirty white trash bags alongside the road, all lined up. My mom and I were about ready to comment on it when we realized they were sheep! Dead sheep alongside the highway!

I didn't see any blood so I am not sure if they got hit by a car or what. And this was about 11am in the morning with the hot summer sun on them and no where near a butcher's shop.

So other than some escaped sheep getting hit by a car...what could it possibly be?!

Maybe they were being transported and the truck lost some of it's load on accident? I don't know. That almost sounds creepy. They were lined up?

I am going to have to watch the newspaper of the next couple of days to see if any explanation is forthcoming.

That is very strange. Sheep don't stay in a straight line for anything. Perhaps they died and the rancher lined them up along the road until he could bring a truck. Either way, it might just warrant a call to the Sheriff's department.

This is a common sight near dairies where I grew up if Animals died they laid them on the side of the road as it was easier than staking the dead animals. hen there would be a vehicle a pretty large truck that would take the animals away to be disposed of. Lots of time the animals would sit there for a week or more before being picked up pretty gross if you are a little kid on a school bus who has to pass that spot each day as the animals go through the stages of decomposing in the hot California sun. This doesn't sound strange to me just normal ranch actions to death.

have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe

I have a thought....maybe there were UFO's in the area and the sheep were used as an experiment, then were lined up when done. Any UFO sitings lately? Usually, they're seen in rural areas. (Sorry, Friday afternoon, almost time to go home and just being silly!)

We drove by the spot yesterday on our way up to Billings MT (wedding dress shopping!! More under "Family Matters") and they were all cleaned up. My dad thinks they had died and the rancher drug them out to the road to be picked up to be taken to the dead animal pit at the land fill. Who knows? Nothing has been said about it in the paper.
