The summer issue of Hobby Farm Home magazine has this listing in the "on the market" section:

Ivydale, WV
set on nearly 100 acres, Arts and Crafts style home is beautifully finished with hardwood floors throughout. Tongue-and-groove walls, fireplaces, restored hardwood trim and large wrap-around porch.
3 bedroom, 2 bath. Organic garden complete with deer-proof fencing, small orchard, creek, pond, pool and outbuilding.

The picture looks wonderful, and if I thought I could get my DH to pull up stakes and move from Missouri, I be there in a heartbeat!

Take a look and let us know what you think!

Sandy, I saw that too. What a buy, specially since the price of housing out here is sky high. Most of those hpuses were pretty nice. MB

I've seen that one online, but it is a little more than we want to afford. We are trying to downsize, but I LOVE that property!!!!!!! And 100 acres....big sigh....and a swimming pool and a craftsman bungalow!!! Big Sigh.....and YES we are still looking. I keep telling myself with each swipe of a paintbrush or each box or bag I haul out it gets us closer to that dream farm!!!!

Thanks so, so much for keeping an eye out for me!! I'm concentrating my search around Spencer WV. Here is one that I love:

This one has almost everything we are looking for, but I sure would love that swimming pool.

I always have my eyes looking for great property! I think I'm a closet real estate junkie ;-)

I LOVE that property you posted....the white farm house with a red barn. I bet the upper level of that barn could be fixed up for some pretty wonderful barn dances!

Good luck and keep us posted!

We are still looking. I've been cleaning out my attic and painting and fixing up like mad. Well, last week our air conditioner went out on us again....does this EVERY year here in this house. Yesterday the repairmen show up and one of them is looking to buy a big house in this subdivision that is private with four bedrooms and a basement. When I told him that ours was going on the market in the very near future, he took a look through the house and said he is very interested. When I told him that it has three private acres out back and a place to put his hottub, he just about started salivating. He also knows that the air conditioner is on its last legs and will probably need to be totally replaced within the next five years and that didn't phase him a bit. He said, I can replace it myself!! He also said.....stop all fix up if I buy this house....phew....I'd sure like that!! So anyway....my farmhome is a possible mini-step closer to reality. I would really love to circumvent the real estate agent and sell direct...done it before!!
