Georgann... I hate to tell you, but those are like GOLD. They make the best tableclothes for art shows. The can bake in the sun all day and they never fade. I have yet to be able to stain one, even with soy candle wax.... and that stuff once it spills on anything Fels Naptha cant get it out. They never Never wrinkle and if they get wet, it is like polar tech... wringe it out, and it is almost dry enough to throw back on the table, Oh and if your table is anckle deep in water because it is pouring.... it doesnt wick up water off the ground. Everytime I see a bolt of black, I buy it.

Oh, Elizabeth....sorry. There weren't any blacks in it at all, but lots of pastels and prints. They are still sitting in the Thrifty Quaker until Friday when the fabric lady picks them up. Do you want me to undonate a bag of them for you? I know the gals down there really well. I know they would let me have some back. But, no black. There is a really long piece of sky blue, some white, cream I think a long tan piece. I feel really, really bad now. :( Let me know ASAP and I will stop and get some back!!

My husband calls me room : The Estrogen Den Funny though, everyone seems to congregate in here while I'm working! LOL So much so that I have an easy chair with a lamp next to it for my hubby to come and read in while I work. LOL.....well that is after he shoves stuff out of the way! LOL

No, its ok, I have 2 full black bolts still.... and about 4 yrs of burgandy. I carry one huge bin filled with 10' pieces.

But They just had an article in the Columbus Dispatch about how Aprons are the new hot trend....
You may need them to do an art show.

I saved a few kitchy pieces for myself....really homey prints and some solid colored jewel tone blues. I should go back and get the solid colored waffle weaves though. Don't know if I'll ever set up a booth anywhere. Hubby keeps throwing things at me to do. But after this move....maybe I'll get more sewing time.

Ali,
you could use them for trimmings on canning jar rings and then give them as christmas gifts with homemade tomatoe soup or jam in them. just a thought

Now I am not as ambitous as all of you, I will not be tackling my craft stuff for now. Because I am going thru all of the house and perging the things we don't need or use, and of course going thru all of the kids stuff(mainly old clothes). I am so happy though cause I already have a home for most of the stuff we don't want of the kids(I get to bless my girlfriend with all the good stuff I was having a hard time letting go of) SO to all the spring cleaners wether it is a craft room or something else a big WOO-HOO and great job

I've been cleaning out my arts & crafts and giving them out to my daughter & the neighbor girl. It keeps them busy, the stuff actually gets used up and I'm getting my closet space reclaimed!!!! : ) Yay!

This disorder usually results in needing an understanding partner and a large crafting space or room that can be left perpetually messy. Persons with hyper-creativity disorder create beautiful items usually not attempted by the ordinary crafter.

PIMPL!

I think that H.C.D. is accompanied with another diagnosis: hyper-acquisition disorder (H.A.D.) Officially known as buy-it-for-later-or-it-could-be-gone-once-you-know-how/when/where-you're-going-to-use-it Syndrome. As in:

"Oh, honey...I know I've already got more 12x12 paper than I can use in a lifetime, but when I saw this, I just H.A.D. to have it!"

H.A.D. can also be used to identify the habitual spending sprees that generally accompany a Michael's 40% off coupon or Hobby Lobby Bonus Days. "Why, of course I H.A.D. to have it - I got it on sale!"

The final symptom of H.A.D. can be observed in the execution of crafting experience.

"Do you have a blue stamp pad?"
[reply] "Why, yes...I think I H.A.D. one over here just a moment ago...Oooops, it got buried under the pile...wait - there...nope, that's teal. Which shade of blue? I know I H.A.D. about 10 shades at one time, but they're all buried under this mess!"

OMG...

OK, I bought 4 more kits yesterday, including a sweater kit with 10 rolls of 100% mercerized cotton? yarn in a very nice green(it was $6.76 - remember I dont knit), 4 packs of stumpwork needles (0.21 each) 2 packs of ball point needles (0.36 each) 6 packs of dressmaker pins 0.12 each. 4 bolts of trim...$1.44-$4.67 each (yep this is what they usually sell by the yard) 8 rolls of double sided basting tape $0.26 each. More fabric. 14 Aunt Martha embroidery heat transfer patterns (ya know those crazy 50's designs) 0.50 each... and I am still looking for the dancing veggies with faces. 3 big packs of brass saftypins 0.90 each and 7 spools of tatting thread.... now just need to learn.

I have a problem.... check out blog

Yes, I too must confess that having H A D and H C D does make ones life very interesting. I think I shall have to share both of these with my quilt group it will make them LOL. I dontate to our local quilt quild and to Vanessa BeeHahn Nursery that helps kids in need. They make quilts and each child that comes through gets to keep there quilt.
Yes, I am looking forward to seehing what the sharing and bartaring will be. Like I need more, no but isn't that half the fun of it. Carol Sue

Life is short, enjoy every moment.

I posted this to a new topic by mistake. Ignre that other topic. I'm such a dork. *LOL*
*****************************************************

I'm thinking we need to change the name of this thread to H A D and H C D Anonymous. Meetings will be held in the back isle of the craft department at Walmart, for a little shopping experience afterwards. *ROTFLMBO* (rolling on the floor laughing my butt off)

Hi, my name is Sherone and I am a craftaholic. I suffer from H A D and H C D Syndrome and I need help!

Progress Report - DS and I pulled everything out of the *RFH* (room from h**l)and put it all in the living room. Tonight the sorting will begin. I have set up a tent in the back yard to put the stuff I am going to keep. (We are also remodeling the room, so it will need to be tented for a couple weeks) My DH has procured a small trailer to put the junk in for the dump. My dining room will be the piling place for all the good stuff I will be offering for you.

As you can tell, this room is a MESS!

I'll keep you posted.

Wow! A small trailer for the throw away stuff! That must be a pretty large room then! I can't wait to see what turns up from your sorting. You have us all in a frenzy! :)

The room was actually built as a indoor hot tub room. It is quite large. My son wants to move in to it because it is bigger than his room. Thus the remodel and the purge. I am losing space, but gaining a happy teenager. Yep, it's worth it. Besides, when he's gone in three years, I'll get it back. *EG*

Hi Alishushu!! Every thought of attaching those fringe and trims and things to the bottom of tea towels? My mom got the most adorable tea towel with this beautiful trim on the one end from her tea towel swap. So cute!! Just an idea ;)
Isn't it wonderful when you come across things that can "pick" your interest to get creative?! Yay for you! HUgs!!jessie

you gals ought to do a craft clean out swap
post the items you no longer want and trade out for something that you might need for a new project.

Cyndi of Mullers Lane... I have scads of basket reed. I keep hanging onto it as if I might someday take up basket weaving again, but I really should let it go be useful now (and allow the space it's taking up to be put to better use as well). I will gather it up and let you know how much is there if you want to do a trade. I think that my e-mail is listed on my profile, but I haven't checked. It's been a while since I've been here at all.
