And it got me thinking: Yeah - we *all* know the concept. List of veggies, list of meats, decide crust style. But I'm thinking that some of the rest of y'all out there might me like me...just may not think of a particular combination until another Farmgirl posts it. Or get in a rut and need some new ideas to keep the family hoppin'.

So for being my inspiration on this post JoAnn (Mountain Girl) got to be first. Mine is quite a bit different.

Thick Cut:
~ Turnip
~ Potato
~ Green pepper
~ Red pepper
~ Orange peppers
~ Sweet onion
~ Zucchini

Saute lightly (as in "sweat out" the vegetables to release some juices but still keep 'em firm) and add some cubed chicken. **Season to taste. At the last second before you top it with MJ's Baking Mix, throw in a few handfuls of spinach and stir it in to mix it, but not wilt it. Then top and bake.

** My "season to taste" includes some sweet rice wine vinegar, Tabasco, light soy, and a dash of lemon juice.

Vintage Redhead (I'm visualizing Lucille Ball of I Love Lucy showing my age I guess, I loved her) I am adapting a recipe of MaryJane's from her Recipe Issue magazine. I'm adding the chicken since I had some of that yummy deli whole chicken you can buy. Got it for $3.99 at Wallmart. Gosh that's cheaper than a fresh chicken. My only problem seems to be that I have to saute the veggie ingredients longer than they call for. Of course I have to stop and post this : ) JoAnn

I like cabbage, carrots, onions, celary and seasonings with hamburger and the budget mix crust! Yum!

Oh, YUM!! I decided to save your recipe for tonight since DH got home and asked what I wanted for dinner for my BD or did I want to go to my fave pancake house on Sat a.m. (which I opted for.)

Not so much like Lucille Ball - I wish I were that pretty!! Wasn't she just the greatest? She was so pretty, so funny, and opened *so* many doors for women in comedy and television. One of my all-time favorite movies is "Yours, Mine, and Ours" with LB and Henry Fonda. I think it's some of her best work - really showcasing the spectrum of her talent. Anyway, there's a photo of me on my blog...proving that I'm not quite LB material.

Can't *wait* to make your recipe tonight!! ~ K

Alee: Yours sounds really yummy, too! That's why I want to get other FG ideas - these are two combos that sound just *FAB* with ingredients I love, but wouldn't come up with on my own. ~ K

I made a sourdough crust and tossed a bit of cornmeal in the dough, that was nice for a change. Sort of matched it with a pizza theme.

I also did a Thai-inspired one with lemongrass, ginger, peanut, lime, soysauce and sesame seeds with veggies and meat. No leftovers. :)

We make a difference.

My favorite one I ever did was yukon gold potatoes, swiss and sharp cheddar cheese, sliced okra, roasted red peppers and fresh corn with a budget mix crust...yum!!!! I have loved all the combos I have done though..I really love the black bean cornbread for topping with beans and cheese, and the foccocia with veggies and cheese alot too...

My favorite so far has to be a dessert one made with fresh peaches, blueberries, brown sugar, butter and a crust sprinkled with sugar. Topped with lightly sweetened whipped cream- yummy!!
