Since Aunt Jenny posted pictures of her place I looked up pictures of mine to share. These are from when we first moved in last March. I've since planted some trees and have flowers in bloom. Included are pictures of our house and the view from my front porch -- where I spend LOTS of time in white wicker rocker.

Kay, Your land and home is beautiful! So green, and lush! And the beautiful trees! I can just picture you on that pretty porch in your rocker soaking up that beauty! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much for all your kind words. All the green is one of the things that I love about living here. That is part of the reason that I don't mind the winter rains so much. However, we are coming up on our driest months (July and August) so things will get a little brown around the edges until Fall.

Those are pretty pictures. How happy you must be! Where we live we couldn't even pour enough water onto the lawn to make it look as green! It hasn't rained in six weeks or so and we had more than 30 consecutive days with temperatures in the mid-nineties or more! Envy goes your way (smiles, too)!

Kay, Thanks for sharing! Now I can picture you in the gray house with the front porch , surrounded by all that lush green . Are the evergreens cedars? I love all evergreen trees and how it smells when you are in an evergreen forest. Here in the center portion of my state we are predominantly deciduous ( south of here the pine barrens ( black pine mostly ) and north of here hemlock, white pines, spruce and firs, Around here cedars are "volunteers" in alot of fields! You are a lucky girl to live in such a beautiful place!

Bramble, Some of the trees are cedar, some are douglas fir. It does smell heavenly, especially the cedar. I use it for decorating at Christmas time.
I am so lucky to live in such a beautiful state. I take the "green" for granted sometimes because I'm so used to it. Then when I go to other parts of the country and see the drier landscapes I'm always more appreciative of it when I get home.

Great photos Kay! Our yard is so BROWN, well tan actually! At least the corn and bean fields are green around me! The storm clouds hover and then move on before it gets a chance to rain.

Nicole: Now THAT is a farm. Stunningly beautiful. I would go back in a heartbeat if I could.
This is my little piece of heaven. The 10 acres inside the fence are just waiting for me. My dad used to farm all the land you can see in this picture, now my cousins do some of it. My cousin Josh just got finished cutting when this picture was taken. Nancy |
