This is the first apron that I have made. I never even made one in school. Yes I am that old that I actually took Home Ec.

It has lots of pockets and even one for pens, cell phone and one just for dollar bills.

Great apron! I love the colors and the style. I also took home ec! Learned to embroider there and have loved that ever since. We made Mock apple pie in that class. Remember that??? Making apple pie with RITZ crackers? How fun.

Very pretty! I too took home ec, and we did make an apron in 7th grade. That was my first sewing experience. That's what aprons always remind me of! My home ec classes were fun. My favorite home ec teacher (we had 3) was a woman right out of college - she had lots of neat ideas and was so excited to be teaching--the whole class was like one big slumber party! We talked & cooked & sewed - it was great! I even won the Crisco outstanding home ec student my Sophmore year in high school. I got a little trophy - I'll take a pic & post it if I get a chance to dig it out of the hope chest later today.
I've never sewn another apron, and really have done very little actual sewing since getting out of high school. But, I'm in the current apron swap, so I'm going to be giving it another go very soon here!

Thanks everyone... This was really fun to make, and inspiring to design and make more. I have already finished 2 more with design revisions... such as lining and a flap over the center row of pockets.... so stuff wont fall out as easily.
I would like to design one that would take 4 fat quarters. They have such nice fabrics and they are already perfectally match by color, or theme.
Thanks again everyone
BTW Those are the clothespins for the clothespins swap.

Awsome job for a first apron! And now two more. You rock, girl. I made one this past winter and that's all she wrote - I was hooked on making them. It's so much fun to create one of your own design or just sew one up from all the cute patterns out there. Have one of MJ's cut out and ready to whip up myself. Have made some for friends and they just love them. Keep up the great work on the aprons and clothespins.
