Thanks! She really has some great information - I've never heard of her before, but I'm sure reading up!!!

Susan Weed is an excellent herbalist and very well-known here in the East. I've never met her, but my sister has and she's attended some of her workshops too. I have a signed copy of her book, Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year. Her sister was my first midwife and attended two of my homebirths before she moved from Connecticut.

I love this sight, I never knew it existed. I've read Susan Weed before - her book Healing Wise was simply a staple for me, living in Vermont. I love her writing style, as she sort of writes a little page from the plants which I think very accurately portrays their "personalities". Great woman - Great author. Thank you so much for this sight.

I was not aware of the site either - and I ordered her Weeds for the Wise video - it is wonderful and she is such an interesting woman! She has correspondence courses and I just can't decide which one to take - there are easy payment arrangements of $50 per month which is quite workable. In addition to my Clayton College course that I have already paid for and not completed yet I wanted to add something with a little more insight to the spirit of herbalism - her courses seem togive that added boost. Someday I hope to teach herbalism to others - that is part of the reason we are moving out of jersey.
Right now I just picked fresh lemon balm, violet flowers and some leaves, strawberry leaves for an infusion. And, I am going to order red clover blossoms to make infusions to help with menopause.
If anyone thinks of taking a course of hers let me know which one you are drawn to.....decisions decisions.
I will be joining the staff of The Essential Herbal magazine as their book reviewer and author interview coord and I will be interviewing for my first interview, Gail Faith Edwards - another wonderful herbalist from Maine! Ewww - I will also post a link on here for some free mp3 interviews with herbalists, one of them is Susun Weed!
