We call them pin cushions here, too, Sunshine! Maybe it's a Utah thing!!! Yep - they are the same thing as pin keepers.
I am so excited about this contest - I absolutely CANNOT WAIT for the gallery of photos to be up - I love that this project is "do-able" by any and all of us - what a wonderful idea!!!!!
XOXO, Libbie

Hi girls. Just to clarify - yes, pinkeepers are just pincushions, and no, they don't have to be like the ones in the book - use your creativity to make a pinkeeper out of anything ... like Alee said, anything goes! MaryJane says a picture is worth a thousand words, so here are 2 more pictures to get you inspired ...
Have fun stitching! Carol

Those are incredibly cute Carol! Who wouldn't want to have those on their sewing table?! The truck one reminds me of "The Grapes of Wrath"

Oh, those are very cute! I also grew up calling them pin cushions, but I like the name "pinkeep." It gives this humble little article a sense of importance. As it should.

Hmmm...I didn't think I was gonna make one either because I didn't really feel like sewing. Now I realize you don't even have to and I'm really excited about it :)
