Today we stopped by to see the Amish and I got 2 gallons of milk, yummy! Two Amish handmade straw hats, so nice! Two Amish made baskets, one is an egg basket, the other is a wool gathering basket, I love, love these!!! And the cutest litte mini black bonnet pin chushion, it is soooo cute. We got ready to leave and she wanted to give me some cheese she'd made. I thanked her and asked what kind it was. She kind of covered her mouth up and shyly said, "we call it smeariton cheese," I said whats that Ive never heard of that. My husband said, "you know like cheese whiz, you just smear it on the bread!" She said "YES! That's what it is!" and we all laughed. I thought it was some kind of german word she was using, rofl. She was sooo cute. A very nice lady, and I can't wait to try the cheese! I'll be posting some of my pictures of todays road trip on my blog, and I've been thinking about placing some of the photos on my etsy, but I'm not sure about that yet. ~~Blessings, Mikki Jo www.mikkijo.etsy.com

Mikki, How exciting! Are you going to sell alot of the Amish things? Sounds like you had a fun day. How far away are the Amish from you? NANCY JO

Mikki- Do you know these Amish people personally, like are they family friends, or do you just stop and shop at stands they set up?

Oh how neat! I'm fascinated by the Amish; a little jealous, really! I made my first visit to an Amish community last fall and I was giddy when I spied a horse and buggy in the distance! Can't wait to see some pictures!

No, they don't have stands set up. They are friends and we go to their farms, but there is a limit to Amish and English relations. We always visit for an hour or so, and laugh and joke. They laugh a lot at my mishaps and the stories I tell them, lol. Laura, there's a few Amish pictures I've taken yesterday and last weekend too on my blog, and on the side bar will take you to some also. I hope you enjoy them! ~~Blessings, Mikki Jo www.mikkijo.etsy.com
