Hello all,
I am interested in swaping for some homemade soap. I used to love bath and body's soap with bits of "loofa" in it. If anyone has something like that I would be interested.
This is my first time to swap so I'm not sure what all ya'll would be interested in...maybe some homemade "peach salsa" (little spicy and a little sweet). |

I make a lemon soap with cornmeal in it....garden soap. It has a really faint scent though..you hardly notice it..I love it for my version of "lava" soap..really scrubs. I do an oatmeal soap with no scent too..but it is more of a facial soap..and very gentle.

I currently have Almond, Lavender, and one called juniper breeze. I will be soaping this weekend so if there's some scent you'd like, let me know and I'll add it to the list I'll be doing. Thinking of doing Lemongrass-calendula and I don't know whatelse. If your interested, what would you like to trade? KarenP

Wow, so many choices...They all sound good.
I have some homemade "peach salsa" and some homemade "grape" jelly. I also have books ( I love books)...I'll trade the neighbors dog...he scares my birds away. I have some t-shirts I designed with a snowman and the caption "Jesus loves you snow much"...(I know it's a little early but I am out of the others I made.) I'm new to the trade ideal so that's all I can think of. Let me know if your interested.

I have some question about the scents that you gals are using in your soap. Are they essentail oils? And are these lye or glycerin soaps? I'm asking because we make unscented soaps and would like to try scenting them. But when we tryed orange oil and the soap saponafied differently, it got spotting. I know you have to put the oil in at the end, but is there anything else I should know. I've read that essentials oils can change the soap. Any advice?

sqrl, have not made soap myself yet so can't answer your essential oil ? but you might try posting that question on the bath and body board at candletech.com There are quite a few experienced soapers there that always seem to be able to answer my questions. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

This is a post I made over on the other homemade soap thread over in Cleaning Up. Hope it helps.
~~~There are also TONS of web sites with recipes and information. Anything by Sandy Maine is good. Many essential oils won't hold their properties past aromatherapy in lye soap. And many won't hold that very well. There are so many fragrances made especially for cold processed soapmaking that are skin safe and specifically for soaps and lotions. And really not all essential oil are skin safe. Some cause photosensitivity, should never be used by pregnant women, nursing mothers etc. Natural/essential oils doesnt always mean safer. Anything that can be absorbed should be used with caution.~~~
I make Lye Soap, Hot Process,and use Essential oils and also Fragrance Oils. Juniper Breeze is a FO and so is Almond, as I've heard both good and bad about using Almond EO. Lavender and Lemongrass-Calendula are EO also will be making Eucalyptus Peach Salsa sounds really good! KarenP.
Does anyone here make a highly scented rose soap? I would be interested in it. Give me some ideas of what you would like for trade as I am new to this.
Karen, I would like to try the Damascus Rose soap. Do you also sell a matching body spray? Always a good ending to a fragrant shower. Let me know how to make this happen.
Thanks, Dorothy
Dorothy, I made a small batch of soap with the Damaskus Rose oil. and a few rose petals, smells pretty good, I cut it a little late so the bars are not cut as nice as I hoped (started to get too hard to cut). i have a recipe for a body spray, but don't have any bottles until this weekend. So if your interested, let me know. KarenP
Hi Karen, I am excited you have some soap for me. As far as how it is cut, once it gets wet a time or 2 it won't matter. Email me and let me know the pricing of the soap and what the body spray would run. Looking forward to receiving it. Dorothy
I would love to swap some sewing for some lavander or rose scented goats milk, I have never swapped like this before, but I love lavander and rose. My DD has been begging me to teach her to make soap for years, but that would mean I have to learn a new hobby! then I would have to find a new hubby!
