Posted - Aug 06 2010 : 9:12:14 PM I made one of these tonight. I crocheted it in about an hour.
When it gets dirty, turn it inside out and use the other side....then, toss it in the wash and re-use it. viola!

Posted - Aug 16 2010 : 10:17:45 PM I also made one with yarn that I used my rug hooking tool to make fringy pieces to catch more dust and dirt. It works pretty good. |

Posted - Aug 16 2010 : 5:15:32 PM You can also use fleece fabric to make these - the polyester fleece really seems to grab the dust with static cling.

Posted - Aug 11 2010 : 1:10:10 PM Just finished my first one, then used it on a freshly vacuumed floor (or at least I thought it was!) Couldn't believe the extra dust and dog hair it picked up. I'm giving these babies for Christmas stocking stuffers!

Posted - Aug 07 2010 : 09:41:09 AM I just knitted across several inches longer and about an inch wider than than my swiffer, then folded the ends over and sewed them to make the pockets to insert the swiffer head. When I crocheted them, I crocheted long lengthwise to make channels to catch the dirt as I pushed them along.

Posted - Aug 07 2010 : 07:46:31 AM What a great idea---those swifter pads are expensive (we have wood floors throughout this barn of a house) so we go through a lot of those!
Merry....Please post the knitted pattern here-I would love to be able to knit my own-![](icons/icon_smile_big.gif)

Posted - Aug 06 2010 : 9:23:54 PM I have knitted several and I love them! They pick up so much more than the swiffer sheets, and less wasteful!
