Is Ammonia safe for the enviorment? I use baking soda and vinegar-I spray the vinegar on the stain add a dash of baking soda scrub it in then spray it again. Most of the time I do this when the clothes get put in the laundry room. I have two messy girls!
WARNING:Don't mix the two together because it foams. It's kind of scary.

Yes, with chlorine bleach it makes mustard gas - I learned that the hard way . . .

Melody, I haven't had any problems using it on our clothes at all. I haven't had to spray anything delicate though.

Jonnie, you are right, ammonia is not organic or safe if mixed with certain ingredients it can become toxic. I only use it for my stain remover. There is a lot of information on the internet about it.

and, since I'm new to this string, is ammonia considered organic/natural?

I made the remover right after someone posted the recipe & it works great! It even removes old stains!
