Found a solution for getting the inside of my husband's thermos clean - he fills it in the morning with coffee, sugar and milk and by the afternoon it was sour - so now everynight after washing it out I drop one Fixodent tablet in it and let it set overnight! Solved the problem.

I think you could use a buffer (on a drill) with a product called Flitz. They have a website - I think the fixodent water would not be strong enough to do the job.

I have cleaned my husbands stainless steel thermos by filling it 3/4 full of hot water adding a tablespoon of vinegar and then adding a teaspoon of baking soda. All the goop just fizzes right out. Needs to be standing in the sink when you do it!

We have stainless steel countertops that we got at the restaurant supply place-- i wonder if fixodent water would work to clean them as well> the ones we use are wiped down on a regular basis but the lower shelves with the dog water are sort of greenish now. i don't even know where to start cleaning them....

This is a wonderful idea! I took cheese broccoli soup to a friend in my dh's narrow mouth thermos and I couldn't get the last little bits out of the bottom. I will be giving this a try.
