Posted - Jan 26 2007 : 11:05:31 PM Does anyone know how to bake a yeast bread in a cast iron skillet on the stove? Jim wants to try this and I've made bread many times, but never on the stove. I've seen cornbread recipes doing this, but not a yeast bread...help...thanks |

Posted - Jan 28 2007 : 11:43:57 PM Oh - Jan - one more thing that I should mention -- the recipes are made with MaryJane's Farmgirl Budget Mix, so you might want to look into that, also. Enjoy, and happy cooking!!!

Posted - Jan 28 2007 : 11:18:34 AM Wow, Jan, - I don't know how this slipped by me, but there are some great recipes for "Farmgirl Panbread" in MaryJanes Farm Kitchen magazine! It's not yeast bread; it's leavened by baking powder and baking soda, and it's wonderful! Kind of like a non-yeasted pizza dough - I HIGHLY recommend it!!!
