Janis, I have not used the chill over powder. I use regular pectin not the sure gel and I love it. The jam recipe is at home that I got from Nicole last year would you like me to copy and mail it to you? If so send me your address and I will get it out to you next week. It is really good.

Posted - Jun 07 2012 : 08:01:43 AM I'm a new sister and this is my first post. I think I've been sending blanks trying to understand how this work. Sorry for that. I thought you could help me as I'm soon to start canning. I hope to pick strawberries this weekend. My question is: what is the difference between pectin and sure-gel and MJ's Chill Over powder I was going to use? If I use Chill Over, do I need to add extra sugar? Please, anyone, send recipes for basic caning. Thanks, Jan, in Almost Heaven West Virginia]Originally posted by texdane
