My doctor has recommend that I go low-carbs, cut out white flour, pasta, rice..etc. I won four awesome coupons from Bob's Red Mill, each valuing $8.00 each so I bought four bags of Almond Flour @ $9.15... so I have plenty of yummy cookie recipes that has Almond Flour. I came across my favorite Christmas Biscotti recipe that has all purpose flour in. Now what I want to know can I use the Almond Flour instead of the all purpose? Can it work that easy?

Anyone help please?

Thank You!

If you really like the flavor of nuts and almonds, try almond flour pancakes with sugar free syrup as one of your first experiments. They were a hit at my house even with the normal carb eaters.

Karrieann,

if you have a health food store look for the "Gluten-free Almond flour cookbook" It takes some getting used to and the recipes don't all work out, but it gives you a start.

You could also use buckwheat and potato flours mixed with you almond flour. Cooking without wheat is VERY different and takes practice.

Good luck,
Laurie

If you are looking to bake, try spelt flour.

No. It won't work. If a recipe calls for AP flour, it's generally safe to sub 1/4 of the AP for other flour. I have no probs with oat flour, ww, etc. Almond flour is not a grain, it is just almond meal, just ground almonds.
