Posted - Jun 27 2006 : 05:35:40 AM I made this yesterday and it is definitely better than the storebought versions of sweet & sour (or what some might call pickled) red cabbage. It was really easy to make, and the whole house smelled wonderful all day. I did not have any caraway seeds, so I left those out. I substituted regular raisins for the golden raisins. More liquid was needed during cooking, so I just added more red wine and red wine vinegar. It got rave reviews served with a pork loin roast marinated in garlic, olive oil, red wine and S&P, along with orzo or rice pilaf. Yummy meal! Let me know if you try it, and if you like it!

I can't open the attachment, but I'm at work so that's probably why. I'll check on my home pc tonight. I would love this recipe. Last time I tried to do something with red cabbage, it came out all crunchy & not very tasty! Thanks.
