Alee	Posted - Oct 18 2010 : 08:22:05 AM Mr. Tom Turkey that I helped butcher yesterday is in the oven! Hurray! We are going to have a full fledged thanksgiving dinner tonight. Lots of mashed potatoes and gravy, turkey and stuffing. Yum! I am even going to dig some carrots from the garden and we are going to have some roasted veggies. I can hardly wait!! Alee	Posted - Oct 18 2010 : 09:31:20 AM Hi Kris- He took pity on me and did the chopping becuase I had never seen it done and I didn't want to miss or not hit hard enough and make him suffer. I think next time I could do it myself though. I might try a chicken first... I am cooking it long and slow mostly because that is how I always do my birds. He had lots of tasty fat on him so I know he will be good. We didn't exactly weigh him but after butchering I am making an educated guess that he is about 25lbs.
